    Thursday
    4* Seton Hall/Georgetown 1H under 68.5

Georgetown will slow it down against up-tempo Seton Hall after trailing UConn 40-25 at the half on Saturday. The Hall also went over in the 1H of their last game, leading Cincy 39-30. The Hoyas won't do well trying to outscore the Pirates, so they'll make it their kind of game early. 1H under has clicked in last 2 meetings.

      adding:

      4* Providence -3

DePaul has a strong tendency to roll over and die, a habit I doubt they'll kick in their first game without Jerry Wainright. They haven't stayed close to anyone since Big East conference play started, and have next to no home court advantage. Friars aren't fearsome by any stretch, but they tallied double digit wins against St John's and Rutgers. Make that 3 double digit wins over Big East also-rans.

        adding:

        3* Indiana +14

Capri5421 posted about this one first and has a good write-up. UM has only 3 wins by 15+, and they were all NL games against the likes of Coppin State and Northern Michigan. IU was blown out at OSU in its only true away game this season, true, but they just upset UM at a 5-point dog at home on NYE. UM's offense is terrible, and Crean will be sure that IU shows up. Michigan by 8.

            adding:

            3* Buffalo -2.5

Bowling Green is brutal, and is mediocre or worse statistically in nearly every category. Their defensive FG% and rebounding are okay, but Buffalo is one of the best rebounding teams in the MAC, also defends well and has advantages on both the FT line and at PG. Buffalo's weaknesses are that they can be a little sloppy with the ball and don't force many turnovers, but BGSU isn't the kind of team that would figure to be able to exploit that. Buffalo isn't overly dynamic offensively, but they have two potential all-MAC players in Rodney Pierce and Calvin Betts, which is two more than BGSU has on its roster. Pierce and Betts will get Buffalo the points they need, Boyer will protect the ball and distribute, and all the Bulls will make their FTs at the end. Bulls by 8.

Think that I'll sit tight with these four and wait for some 2H opportunities.

            4* SH/Gtown 1H under 68'
            4* Providence -3
            3* Indiana +14
            3* Buffalo -2'

            BOL tonight.

sounds good, 2da. live in Big Ten country, so tend to follow Big Ten a lot [as well as MAC and Horizon]. it's not always pretty hoops, but when you have the 1H under, there's nothing more beautiful than 23-22 with under a minute left.

                adding one more:

3* St Mary's -4' [number has gone up pretty much everywhere]

Plenty of others on this, so reasons are well-documented. I will point out that St Mary's does a very good job of defending good 3-point shooting teams, similar to Virginia Tech (as we saw what VT did to a good 3-point shooting team in Miami earlier this week). Their 3-point differential is +5.3 made 3PTs per game (VMI and CoC only other teams in that neighborhood). St. Mary's is a strong home team in a statement game, and of course, they make their FTs.

that's it, pencils down, no more additions until the nightly 2H opportunities come along:

                4* SH/Gtown 1H under 68'
                4* Providence -3
                3* Indiana +14
                3* Buffalo -2'
                3* St Mary's -4
