Oklahoma -3 (-110 Bookmaker) to win 2 Units
The Oklahoma Sooners may finally be getting used to the idea of life without Blake Griffing. After starting off 2-3 they have rallied for six straight and although they are not absolutley hammering some teams they should be they are winning games against a few quality opponents. They really struggled without Griffin early. I think they under estimated how much his departure would effect everyone else. He commanded so much attention down low that now without him those open 3's last year aren't so open, those easy rebounds aren't so easy, and those quick outlets off the defensive board aren't so quick. But, from what I have seen they are finally beginning to adjust and switch the style of play. They picked up a really tough win @ Utah which is a very hostile enviornment. Snuck by a underrated Northern Colorado squad, and beat Arizona and Arkansas fairly comfortably. Willie Warren has put the team on his back and with his sidekick Tony Crocker they have enough fire power to turn this team into a tournament team.
UTEP certainly isn't a push over but this is just their 2nd quality opponent this year. After defeating some cupcakes and losing to New Mexico State they took Ole Miss to overtime until they collapsed and lost by 10. They have 5 quality players that all score and rebound with the most dangerous of the bunch being Randy Culpepper. However, they don't go that deep and when they do go to the bench Oklahoma will have a pretty big advantage on the floor and I think that is when they do most of the damage tomorrow. I don't like playing on OU but with this game being played in Oklahoma City and Oklahoma being the better team I can't pass on a line that should probably be closer to -5.5.
Oklahoma 85, UTEP 74
