I DID like Evansville, but if memory serves they've beaten no one all year by more than 7 except for Oakland City and SIU - Edwardsville... Scared me off.

Point guard for Evansville is out averaging 5.9 pts per game. I was leaning towards Evansville b4 finding this out and I'm still unsure how much of an effect this will have overall. He was their main point guard, assist leader and one of the main emotional leaders for the team. Not much of a loss in scoring (4/5 FT, 1/5 3 pts, 18/37 FGs) but perhaps a slight increase in turnovers. I may still go with Evansville but small. Looks like RAS has Evansville today also.

Kavon Lacey (out 4 weeks) is the assist leader at 23, however he only averages
                    6 points per game.

GAME NOTES: The George Southern Eagles begin a four-game road trip tonight, as they invade Roberts Stadium to tussle with the Evansville Purple Aces in a non-conference affair.
The Eagles enter the game mired in a slump, as they have lost four straight decisions for the second time this season. The most recent of those setbacks came on Tuesday, a 69-58 loss to Coastal Carolina in Statesboro. Now at just 3-8 overall, GSU hits the road, where it has had no success, going 0-6 thus far.
As for the Aces, they enter the game well rested, last participating in a 63-57 loss at Western Kentucky on December 8th. The defeat snapped a two-game win streak and dropped the squad to 4-3 overall. Evansville though, has been at its best at home, posting a 3-1 ledger on the campaign.
Evansville is 2-0 all-time against GSU and both of those meetings took place right here at Roberts Stadium.
GSU allowed Coastal Carolina to shoot an efficient 59.6 percent from the floor, as it suffered a 69-58 setback on Tuesday. The Eagles stayed close by knocking down 7-of-16 attempts from downtown and 9-of-12 at the foul line, but they also committed 17 costly turnovers. Willie Powers led the team in defeat with 19 points and four assists and he heads the team in both departments for the season, averaging 14.8 ppg and 3.7 apg. Antonio Hanson chips in with 12.2 ppg and he is deadly from long range, hitting on 39.3 percent of his attempts.
After seven games, the Aces are holding foes to just 39.5 percent shooting from the field. They have also done a good job following any misses, outrebounding opponents by a 8.2 rpg. Offensively, Colt Ryan paces the team with 15.9 ppg and he is also dishing out 3.1 apg. James Haarsma contributes 12.9 ppg and he is the team's top rebounder, pulling in 7.7 rpg. In the squad's prior outing, Ryan poured in 23 points, but it wasn't enough in a 63-57 loss at WKU. Evansville shot just 32.0 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes of that game, as it let a 37-28 halftime advantage slip away.
Evansville has been sharp at home this season and it should be able to get back into the win column versus a struggling GSU club tonight.
