My first ten unit play of the year in college hoops goes of tomorrow and I really feel good about this game.
Washington +2 to win 10 Units
Well, this is the biggest play I make and they usually roll around 2-3 times a year if that. Here we have the first one of 2009 in any sport. Over the past 5 years they are 9-2 but enough advertising.
Georgetown flys across the country to play Washington in a clash of top 20 teams. There is one problem with the line. Whether the records indicate it or not Washington is the better team. By atleast 6. I know that might not make sense right now but come the end of the year I think we see Washington as a top 5 club and Georgetown struggling in the middle of the pack in the Big East.
Georgetown just made me a lot of money on Wednesday but I fade them here. I have seen both teams play a good deal and Georgetown has been very unimpressive in their wins. Yea, the Butler win looks good on paper but Butler is really struggling right now and doesn't have the tools to exploit this Georgetown team. To beat Georgetown you need a fast backcourt that can penetrate this defense. Washington has one of the fastest teams in the country and is always looking for an oppurtunity to push the tempo and get easy buckets. Pondexter is a nightmare match up for this Georgetown team. He is extremley versatile for a 6-6 forward and can stretch the defense at times but also has drastically improved his rebounding which is going to be key tomorrow. Georgetown's offesne is very slow and they rely a lot on cleaning up the glass on the offensive side, if Washington can limit the rebounds, they will be fine.
Also, I don't see a Georgetown player that is fast enough to stop Isiah Thomas. Not many in the country can stop Thomas but I beleive it will really kill Georgetown tomorrow. As I mentioned Washington will run before Georgetown could get the defense set up and with a guy like Thomas he should get several oppurtunities tomorrow to blow by defenders and get easy buckets against a defense trying to catch up. Washington will be able to score when they need to and Georgetown will try to slow the tempo. However, you can't slow the tempo permanently. Eventually your going to miss and Washington is going to take off.
I really think Georgetown is due for a loss here and Washington needs a big win going into Pac 10 play. This could be the win that really gets the ball rolling for Washington. They have played 3 games in a row where you may look at the score and be skeptical but tomorrow they will be ready and I think they get a big win tomorrow. There isn't really much more to say. I have Georgetown as the worse team, Washington -6 is where I set it on a nuetral floor, however, I think Washington is ten points better on a given day, and we are getting +2. This is max value so I am going to attempt to max my profit.
Washington 81, Georgetown 70
Butler -3 to win 3 Units
Yea I know I just mentioned how bad Butler has been but they get to go home where they just don't lose. Butler has 3 losses to Minnesota, Clemson, and Georgetown. They shouldn't have won all those games but they probably should have sniffed out one win. I was high on Ohio State to start the year but they are going without Turner tomorrow who is the nucleas team. I don't think this line is set right for an OSU team without there go to guy. Butler providing value on a floor they are 55-5 in their last 60 on.
Butler 73, Ohio State 64
George Mason -2 to win 5 Units
Utah -1 to win 2 Units
Purdue -4.5 to win 3 Units
UCLA +5.5 to win 2 Units
Gonzaga -12.5 to win 3 Units
Washington +2 to win 10 Units
