    Regul8er's NCAAB Friday Card (11/20/2009)
Hope some of yall followed yesterday's picks...turned a nice profit going 3-1

1st Pick today will be PENN STATE (-7, -105)

Quick analysis. Penn State hung around with Wilmington yesterday despite shooting 32% (24% on 3's) compared to UNCW's 57% (63% on 3's). Huge discrepency for a rather close 11 point game. I think Talor Battle will make a more conscious effort to get teammates involved, and allow his teammates to feed off his energy. Heck, the Nittany Lions don't want to travel to South Carolina, and lose to Wilmington and Tulane. I think the Big-10 grit puts away an average C-USA team.

Tulane looked unimpressive yesterday vs a Miami team who are missing quite a few pieces from last years team. Tulane also got handled easily at home by 16 to Georgetown who looked very overrated and uninspired the other day against Temple. In my opinion, all signs point to Penn State here.

OK...wrong side of the Penn State.....it happens!

Still doing well in College Hoops. Next, I'm trying my luck with NC STATE WOLFPACK (PK, -103)

Why not? ACC vs MAC. NC State lost a good chunk of their scoring, but they have a few talented guys that are stepping into the lineup. They are disciplined and well coached by Sidney Lowe.

Akron lost at home to Austin Peay, a team definately on its way down in the Ohio Valley conference. I think NC State plays good enough defense to win a tight battle.

Also, much longer trip for Akron. I'm guessing more fan support behind the Wolfpack!

Let's hope NC State can hang onto their 22 point halftime lead. You just never know though.

Third and probably final pick of the day: OLE MISS REBELS (-1)

Sure they played Indiana yesterday, but I was very impressed with the flurries they threw on the Hooisers a few times to blow them away. This team was supposed to be a force in the SEC last year, but the injury bug hit in a hard way. Now you throw Polynice and Warren into the mix with Murphy Holloway and Terrico White (both terrific freshman years last year) you have a very dangerous squad. Also, a very deep bench with a few guys who played starter minutes last year.

Kansas State has a very dangerous, experienced team as well. They return the bulk of last years squad who won 22 games in the Big 12 last year. I expect a very tight game, but I think Ole Miss has a little more to prove at this point.

Looking to yesterday, I was more impressed with Ole Miss then I was with K-State. What stands out is that K-State gave up 70 points while Boston U only shot 35% from the field (and even worse beyond the arc).

My reasoning here isn't as convincing, but I have a good gut feel.

Another winning day on college hoops today fellas. Lost the first one, and then two pretty easy wins to follow. Ole Miss looks really good, going to be a top 15-20 team here before too long if they play to their ability. Very good balance inside and out; great ball handlers who make good decisions, and their big man can rebound. By the way, did you see the squats by Reginald Buckner, he has more blocks then points after 4 games!!

            Congrats.

I had K-St. on a fade the public play. Bad bet for me.
