Cleve St re-loading from last season. The Bonnies should be improved a bit, and will certainly have the best player on the court in Andrew Nicholson.

Both squads have their question marks, but both teams appear very evenly matched. I think UMass has more scorers, so I'll take the points.

755 G'Town -10

I think it's very important for the Hoyas to get off to a good start for 2009-10 season after the disaappointment of last season. Basically this team quit in January. A solid core returns, minus Dejuann Summers who played with zero passion last season. I think the new season should renew their focus.

Cornell +7'

The Big Red is the top team out of the Ivy. Coming off 2 straight NCAA appearneces, they have a solid foundation in place. They won't be intimidated on the road. I think Cornell keeps it close.

Texas Tech -7'

TT is going to be a much improved squad this season. I don't like the match up at all for Oregon St b/c they are just so limited offensivly. TT has the guard play, and should be able to force a lot of turnovers.

Temple +10

The early money came in on the Hoyas minus -9. I'll gladly take the extra pt b/c I think the line is a bit off. Temple can easliy play within this spread. Year in year out they play one of the toughest schedules in DI. A solid core returns for the Owls, and Fran Dunphey is a very good coach imo. I am high on the Hoyas this season, but not in this spot, and not at this number.

St John's -5'

Bucking the money move here on the Bonnies +6...St Johns will be a very improved team this season. Mason being out hurts, but could be overcome in this spot.

4-3 ytd....St Johns gets outscored 9-2 in the final 3+ minutes, after building an 8 pt lead..and so it goes.

St Louis +2'

Don't trust a young, mediocre team like the Huskers on the road. Granted the Bilikens are young themselves, they have all the comforts of home.

Dayton Pick Em

With being left out of the big dance the past two season, the Flyers need to earn quality wins. A good win over Creighton of the MVC, and one over an ACC opponent like Ga Tech should help. GA Tech is young, athletic and well coached. The basis of this pick is on a veteran team early in the season that now knows the importance of NCAA resume building wins.

Just missed the +9', but I'll take the +9. I think the Hooisiers make this an ugly game. They are a scrappy bunch and Tom Crean can get the most out of what he has.
