LT, as a general rule of thumb how much is half a point worth on close point spreads. Obviously 20 point favorite and 20.5 favorite isn't nearly as big of a difference as 5 and 5.5. I'm sure it differs for every game, but is there some kind of basic guideline?

I took Northern Iowa at +3.5 at -101 on 5dimes could've taken them at +4 at -110 on Heritage.


I figure the 9 cents isn't worth the protection of the game ending on exactly 4 just to get a push. If it was +4 (-101) or +4.5 (-110) I probably would've taken the 4.5

Points are actually worth more in CBB than in NBA, in CBB, +4 -110 is roughly +3.5 -100.8 (say -101), so that one come down to personal preference with the lines about identical.
