Well UCLA gets the bid because of the big name, Miami Florida got snubbed.
I think the committee set up the tourney to favor all the big schools.
They gave these schools favorable matchups as well.
BYU has to play in,UCLA gets free bid?
Its obvious that politics comes into play in the selection
Its a joke to not give arizona the #1 west seed
Gonzaga arizona #2 seeds in different divisions
They totally set up duke with #1 seed and a smooth bracket, they didn't win the conference or the conference tourney. This means they are a 2 seed.
What they did was put all the better east teams in the west, then displaced the west all over the country
UTAh, Sd State, Gonazaga ucla north dakota st all in the South? Where Duke is the #1 seed.
I think the guys on this forum could have came up with a better bracket.
Everyone agrees UCLA did not belong. Miami was the team that got really hosed.
It all looks geared to make the road easy for certain teams.
Like matchups that would give high seeds problems were avoided,
For instance North florida style of play is geared to beat a team like Virginia, where as Belmont does not have the athletes to exploit Virginia's slowed down pace Instead North Florida gets a play in game. Then if they win they get Duke, which is really a 2 seed. North Florida should be a 15 seed.
North Florida would beat ND State .
The east bracket looks like it should be the west bracket
Northern Iowa a 5 seed?
Coastal Carolina plays some defense, and they take care of the ball.
Bad day in picks today,
Also conference winners should not have to play, play in games (only at large bids)
Manhattan is a team I have seen play a bit. They should roll over Hampton.
New Mexico St, is the closest team to home and they have to face Kansas, This is one of the better first round games. New Mexico St. offered me a partial academic scolarship, So go Aggies.
Maybe the 16 can beat the one this year, I give coastal carolina the biggest chance.
I would try full court pressing wisconsin; doing something on defense to change the game
The best locale they got for first round games is Seattle.
NIT Tournament
Murray State VS Utep! NIT TUESDAY 5pm murray center Kentucky
Murray St, coach if your smart you will play zone or you may get beat.
This is going to be a very competitive game. Murray St, really gets out on the guards and the passing lanes,
Utep should play alot of inside out ball in this game, feeding the center down low for post ups and kick outs;
and keep the ball moving quick, get shots off quicker, and get out in transition.
On defense, play a man to man, don't trap often, and get out on the shooters, make murray st drive to the paint. Don't let murray st get off clean looks from 3. Limit turnovers.
Utep plays ok defense, fantastic rebounding team, when they get out on the break they look like a d-league team. They lost because no one wants to put up a shot. When You pass the ball around the perimeter for 20 seconds it causes mistakes, passivity. Their center was 5-6 from the field. So the center should have had 10 more shots. The half court offense is the problem. This team has got some talent but they are stifled by poor coaching, particularly half court execution.
And Utep has to be in Kentucky by Tuesday, are a bad road team. Utep only got up about 48 shots last game.
You can't score if you don't shoot. Compared to Arkansas which gets up like 75 shots a game but can't shoot.
You need to get up 70 shots a game. This is a joke.
This NIT field is actually very interesting, alot of teams that are fun to watch Central Michigan, UC Davis, Old Dominion,
Best NIT field I have seen lot of teams from atlantic 10,american, conference usa
