Well UCLA gets the bid because of the big name, Miami Florida got snubbed.
I think the committee set up the tourney to favor all the big schools.

They totally set up duke with #1 seed and a smooth bracket, they didn't win the conference or the conference tourney. This means they are a 2 seed.

Murray State VS Utep! NIT TUESDAY 5pm murray center Kentucky
Murray St, coach if your smart you will play zone or you may get beat.
This is going to be a very competitive game. Murray St, really gets out on the guards and the passing lanes,
Utep should play alot of inside out ball in this game, feeding the center down low for post ups and kick outs;
and keep the ball moving quick, get shots off quicker, and get out in transition.
On defense, play a man to man,don't trap often, and get out on the shooters,make murray st drive to the paint. Don't let murray st get off clean looks from 3. Limit turnovers.


Utep plays ok defense,fantastic rebounding team, when they get out on the break they look like a d-league team. They lost because no one wants to put up a shot. When You pass the ball around the perimeter for 20 seconds it causes mistakes, passivity. Their center was 5-6 from the field. So the center should have had 10 more shots. The half court offense is the problem. This team has got some talent but they are stifled by poor coaching,particularly half court execution.
And Utep has to be in Kentucky by Tuesday, are a bad road team. Utep only got up about 48 shots last game.
You can't score if you don't shoot. Compared to Arkansas which gets up like 75 shots a game but can't shoot.
You need to get up 70 shots a game. This is a joke.

This NIT field is actually very interesting, alot of teams that are fun to watch Central Michigan, UC Davis, Old Dominion,

When Wisconsin plays defense,they don't foul. They don't swipe with their hands. Slow down on offense and just shoot it in their face.
You gotta press these guys,they run too good half court sets. You pretty much face guard Decker all game. Decker and Collingsworth from BYU play very similar games. Decker makes the offense go. As soon as Frank puts the ball on the floor rush him. You make their point guard put up all the shots, make the pg over dribble. Also Wisconsin of offense, when a player receives a pass, that player if he makes a move and does not go anywhere in 2 seconds he will pass.
Coastal is pretty good on the offensive boards but has never seen Wisconsin's size. They gotta make this a fast paced game. Shoot alot of threes. Find a hot shooter,

Manhattan has the starting 5 to match up with Kentucky. They have a dominate inside scorer, play a funky matchupzone, they 3/4press causing a few turnovers, they got a player who shoots 45 percent from behind the arc, and their point guard is hitting threes with a messed up release. I think they can all cover, but there is a reason it has never happen, the talent gap is just way to great. Duke and Wisky are both coached so well, and have way to much talent, that there is no way they would lose.

The 30 second shot clock is a very good rule change. It is actually to alot of teams advantage,
You would expend less energy on defense but would be going up and down the court more times a game.

Never liked the can't take a charge in the paint rule. So if you are playing defense you can't play D in the paint? So the guy can just bull rush you and dunk on you, and its a foul on you. Dumb rule.
Its saying the refs are too dumb to know when to call the charge.
