Besides being home, Illinois does not turn the ball over ranking ninth in the country in offensive turnover percentage at 15.2 percent vs. national average of 19.9 percent, and Maryland does not apply pressure defensively ranking 294th in defensive turnover percentage (17.4). So Illinois should be able to run its offense how it likes. Illinois is the better three-point shooting team and it is also fifth in the country in foul shooting.

But Maryland is pretty good at defending the 3. And illinois doesn't shoot many free throws/Maryland doesn't foul much.

Appreciate the response.....and I know your a #'s guy.......But I Believe maryland plays good SOLID D...they create tough shots but dont always turn it over...like when minny went 3-22 from 3...M State 5-22..Iowa St 6-27.....bad even blind but that effort on D creates those poor shoting #'s IMO...and as far as offense, i think Maryland will have no problems scoring 70 points.....I also dont know where the point are going to come from on Illy's side w Rice out...too many players are not used to shooting...Anyhoooo GL with EVERYTHING else LT.... ...(usually when I feel this strongly about an early season game a new star emerges off the bench LOL...)

He will be missed but they have several other guys hitting over 40 from three and over 80 percent from the foul line and I think Rice leads the team in turnovers too.

Fair enough, but it sounds like you expect MD to pack the lane with 5 players on defense and let Illinois fire up 3's all night

Agreed on tough home court but 10.5 still a lot. As long as Buffaloes don't get blown out early, Utes' Achilles Heel (free throws) could prevent them from padding lead.

Putting down Iowa State on their own turf made me a believer. For Florida to go into SC and win, wow..can't see that happening but anything is possible. Still Florida hasn't beaten anyone this year and the have had plenty of chances.
