let me start the day's thread by talking a little about the Providence game.
This was a most unusual game.
Butler was getting a lot of calls and had mechanical shot clock problems.
They ended the half up 7 on a questionable 3pt shooting foul from half-court.
Coach Cooley shook it all up to start the 2nd half. He benched Desrosiers,
Lindsey, and Bentil. Emptied out the bench with Bancroft, Chukwu and
Lomonba.. they played the whole second half.. never seen this before.
They closed out the entire game, with Cooley proving he had trust in them.
Result: dominated rebounds, blocks, shut down Butler, and a win.
This upset was all on the bench's awakening and Cooley's bold call.
I wonder if it sets any precedent. They sure proved a lot. (the bench).
