Washington @ Cal -1 thoughts and discussion

How do we feel about this game? I lean Cal. Washington surprised a lot of people with their strong start. Typically they've been an underachieving team over the years but it looks as if they've overachieved a bit this season. Finally came back down to earth losing to Stony brook of all teams.

Cal has looked solid this year. They dominated Syracuse back in November (IIRC, that game was at Madison Square Garden) and had two very respectable losses to Texas and Wisconsin before inexplicably dropping one to CSU Bakersfield.

I'm an east coast guy so I don't have a strong read on either team. Public perception based on ranking and early season form will likely be that Washington is the play. Just a guess there.

Both teams pretty damn overrated... its tough to call.
I have zero angle on it.
Tyrone wallace is a beast but other than that i think cal is pretty soft.

Wash has upshaw, goss, andrews... lots of talent.

He can recruit, though. There are some studs on that Washington roster right now.

no idea what you think about cal is solid? they have spent most the year skating by bottom feeders, their offense is absolute shit, and beating cuse doesnt give ya that many points in my book.. that said i do worry that the stoney brook loss could be foretelling for udub, wouldnt be the 1st time ive been high on them coming into conf play then conf play gets here and they go in the toilet so im pretty wary of that.. both defenses are pretty good, id assume both struggle to score here, unfortunately they set the total a little lower than i would have liked and it been beaten down even more... it most likely just a watch and see because of my reservations about udub, still think they the more talented team here and wouldnt touch cal..

I gotta think that stony brook mishap was just what they needed. Get them back in te right mindset. Lots of talent on this team. Sometimes loses like their last can be just what a team needs, that is if they're mentally tough. If not, we'll find out tonight and that can be disastrous

if it was just about any other team the stoney brook loss wouldnt mean shit to me as i agree with you.. hell stoney aint even a bad team, it more about history with these assholes and that gm just reminding me of it..

100% agree. Romar is a clown. All the success that he has brought UDub is because of his recruiting and the talent he has put in the court. Guy can't coach a team for his life. He has had some really talented teams in the past and I don't think he has ever taken them deep in the tourney.

Anyways, I like Cal here. Only thing I don't like is arena may be a little empty with kids on break.

going against ranked dogs has been a really bad idea thus far this season.. i wouldnt think they could possibly keep cashing at the rate they are but the unranked fav certainly aint the bet it used to be..
