CO-ST @ NMST
Recommendation: Colorado St. -2.5
We have a spread that couldn’t be more off in tonight’s nightcap between the Colorado St. Rams and the New Mexico St. Aggies. Colorado St. isn’t getting any respect in the betting market right now, as evidenced by this line. They’re an undefeated 12-0 and have been shooting the ball lights out, especially from 3 point range. They’re ranked 18th in RPI and although they haven’t played anyone elite, they’ve dominated the above average competition that they’ve need to. As stated before, this is a very strong offensive team and an above average defensive unit. I don’t see a possible scenario where the Aggies can hope to hang.
Having been to Las Cruces to observe this team many times, I can tell you first hand that they don’t have much of a home court advantage. Even if they did, they’re just not talented enough to hang around with the Rams. NMSU comes in at 5-8 on the season. Some will argue that they have been playing better as of late. While that may be true, there’s just no way they can compete from a statistical standpoint tonight. The Aggies are good at pulling down offensive boards, something that I’m sure has been a focus for CSU in practice. We’re laying virtually no chalk here so I’m very confident in recommending a play on Colorado St. tonight.
