No. I've been disgusted by this phenomenon for over a decade. Many reasons for it and the emphasis on weight lifting nowadays is one of the more significant ones.

Rick Barry, one of the best if not THE best, free throw shooters of all time (career over 90%), says he can make anyone a 90% free throw shooter if they were receptive to his teaching them his underhand technique. No takers. This is astonishing considering the number of games that are decided by less than the margin of missed free throws. Millionaire coach's ego's and player's vanity (don't want to look "uncool" at the line) primary reason for the rejection of Barry's offer of assistance.
