What kinda research do you do Ham?
Just curious...just want to make most use of my time doing research...don't have to divulge all, but just would like to know the basics...stats, articles, eye test?

I am big into stats but not much to go on this early in season and lots of turnover in college sports...have to rely on articles mostly or what I remember from last year.

1) scan games and lines
2) look at recent games- scores, stats, 1H vs 2h
3) write down initial leans
4) Google articles on the game to see if any players out, what beat writers think, etc. (Scratch out any games if I feel like those news articles changed me off of them)
5) study the ATS #'s and SU #'s for the teams, home and away... these usually don't change my mind but may help reinforce my lean


I may also look into other news and stuff posted by respectable posters on SBR but I try not to allow posters to fluctuate my plays.

Iowa has a solid first 6 guys... after that it's kind garbage
I like texas. They are one team I think who will surprise people this year. Lots of weapons. Javan Felix is a great guard.

Texas is going to be crazy good this year Ham. Like Oklahoma, they were a young team who surprised and will only get better with a year under their belt....plus Myles Turner who could be the #1 pick in next years draft, definitely top 5. Texas has a killer backcourt with Felix and Taylor. Two good big men in Ridley and Holmes. No idea who Iowa lost/added this year, think they lost a lot, I just remember them being a veteran team last year, either that or half their guys looked like they were 30 lol.

Yeah Indiana looks good at first glance. SMU is nothing special, and like you said they suck outside of their building. SMU at home was absolute money last year.

That was one of the worst late season meltdowns i've ever seen. And then to top it off they blew that play-in game to Tennessee, I think they had a pretty good lead for most of that game. I agree, Marble was nothing special. No one really stood out on that team individually last year. I think the kid Uthoff will probably be their best player this year.

Pretty solid. They got 3-4 guys who can get it done. But I don't know if if they have enough to beat good teams.

Iowa is about my strongest lean for spread tomorrow, but if you like Texas will probably not play or throw them in a teaser...they should cover 10...and I think they want to erase the bad memory of the NOT championship in MSG 2 seasons ago where they ate bricks all game vs Baylor.

Drexel has been woeful this year thus far. Averaging just 48.5 pts per game while shooting just 31.5 percent per game and 24.4 percent from 3. They will need much more scoring than that if they wanna compete here. Angel Rodriquez is a difference maker. He plays at a high level and can lead miami.

Maryland -16.5. 1.65 to win 1.5.
Fordham has talent but have not been successful this season and I don't think they will find much room to grow in this game. Maryland's Dez wells is a beast. Layman brings a nice versatile game for the terps. No evan smotrycz but I think Maryland has plenty of weapons here. Fordham is also 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games.

Charlotte +3. 1.65 to win 1.5.
Very balanced and experienced team charlotte has. They won the Puerto Rico tip off tourney last year with wins over kansas state and michigan. They return 4 of 5 starters from that team last year. Against elon, who is no push over, they had 7 players with 7 or more points. That is strong contribution. Dj newbill is a baller but with Tim frazier not at the helm, it's easier for teams to focus in on stopping dj. I think the depth, experience, and balance are strengths for the 49ers here and I won't be surprised if they win outright.
