I made a post about this contest two weeks ago. I wasn't really expecting to be in the running for significant prize monies, but here I am in the Final 4 tied for 6th place (or 10th place as it reads on the standings).
Each correct Final 4 pick is worth 16 points for a round potential of 32.
The correct Champion pick is worth 32 points for a round potential of 32.
100,000.00 Prize Pool: 1st Place - $75,000.00 | 2nd Place - $12,500.00 | 3rd Place $7,500.00 | 4th Place $3,500.00 | 5th Place $1,500.00
I'm 99% sure that each remaining entry has Florida, Wisconsin, and Kentucky (except for one guy who only has Kentucky and either Wisconsin or Florida). You can't view anybody's brackets but your own (which sucks and kind of calls into question the legitimacy of the contest perhaps) but I've found this book to be honest and have never NOT gotten a payout.
I'd love to hear people's opinions on the likelihood of the entries ahead of me NOT having a Florida/Wisconsin final with Florida being the champ. I could win the $75000 grand price if some of the entries have Michigan State or Villanova going to the title game (or Kentucky, or Wisconsin winning the entire thing).
Unfortunately though, I'd guess that at least 4 of the 9 entries above me or tied with me has Florida over Wisconsin in the Final, meaning that my prize would be like $3500 or $1500 or a split of one of those figures.
Basically if I'm the only one of the 10 who has a Florida over Wisconsin Final, I'd win $75,000. What do you figure the odds of nobody else having that are? Remember these brackets were all filled out the week of the tournament before any games played.
