Biff what do you think of these plays for tommorrow. OUt of these I really like rutgers probably as the best play.

don't like the St John's 1H. i think Gtown wins that by double digits. if anything, i'd consider the 1H under there, although the number will be small. i have that game as Gtown, 62-49. like both Gtown and Seton Hall to cover the points tomorrow.

like Rutgers and Cleveland State. if i had to choose, probably Rutgers, but would probably play them even. CSU is going to be fired up - this is the biggest game of their lives - and so long as they don't go completely cold from the field due to nerves given that the game is at Butler (always a possibility with them). CSU is far more physical than Butler. I like that game to go over by about 15 (Butler, 69-64). don't think that i'd take CSU for game; like 1H better.

Portland st (21-9 overall, 11-5 in conference play) is a 5.5 favorite against idaho st (12-18 overall, 9-7 in conference play). I thought the spread would be larger espeically since portland st defeated idaho st 85-58 in a game in oregon. Idaho st was playing 3 straight away games when they played at portland st. THis was the final game of 3 straight away games (from jan 3 to Jan 10). On jan 3, idaho st lost to K State (1st away game) 83-57. ON Jan 8, idaho st lost at eastern washington (71-65). On Jan 10, idaho st lost at portland st 85-58. THe scheduling was rough for idaho st during the first 10 days of january. Idaho st had to travel to Kansas, from there to washington and from there to Oregon. This is probably the reason why idaho st opened the season so poorly (7-17). Idaho st finished strong winning 6 of their last 7 games. ONe of their victories during that strong finish was against portland st. Two of the wins were blowouts (defeated Sac st 74-39 and northern Arizona 71-49). Latest victory was on Mar 7 when they defated Northern COlorado 67-60.

Even though, portland st has more wins and a better conference record than idaho st, I do not believe that portland st is a better team. THis is why the spread is small in this game at a neutral site. My prediction is that idaho st is going to upset portland st tommorrow night. I like idaho st +2.5 first half. I also like idaho st ML for the game.

portland st was a good team last year......but this year they underacheived....i agree with your assessment...idaho st should keep it close

i like it ok, but not enough to play it. DePaul is going to play loose and run and Cincy will have 30+ in the 1H. The question is, will DePaul get 30? Cincy defense is tough, and DePaul offense is capable of being held to 15-20 points by any given opponent.

i like the 1H unders in St John/Gtown and Toledo/Akron better. problem is, lines aren't posted for 1H yet with book but guessing that those will be 57.5, 55.5 respectively. those are very low 1H numbers for 1H under, so i may avoid 1H unders today [too bad].

ADDED: upon further review, Akron plays very high-scoring games and 1H in the first round of the MAC tourney [they have a day off before 2nd round, and they usually win going away and play loose like a scrimmage]. i think that the only over/unders that i like today are the Cleveland St/Butler game (119.5) and St John's/Gtown game (123.5). like the Cleveland State one a lot, Gtown one like but don't love. Cleveland State will do anything to win this game, and will extend the game. Butler might be a low-scoring team, but not in elimination games.

I like Northern Illinois +6.5 now. Northern Illinois almost defeated kent st earlier this season. Kent st won 86-83 in Double OT. Only reason NI lost was because of free throw shooting. NI was ahead at halftime 30-28. Now with singletary susupended I really like NI to cover the first half spread.

i have to think on that one. i hate backing NIU, Toledo, the directional Michigans this year unless they're playing one another. Kent State has a very solid history in the MAC tourney. also, looking at their "history," NIU doesn't perform that well in 1H in first round of MAC tourney. NIU will be trailing, question is by how much. Kent is deep, and my concern is more with what the suspension means with respect to how Kent is treating this game. i think they want to jump out big early and coast to win, but covering double digits for game is risky. i think that this game is no-play for me.

3* Rutgers 1H
3* CSU 1H +3.5

considering leans on EMU/CMU over and St John/Gtown under for game. also played Akron small b/c Toledo's a bunch of quitters and Akron's on a mission to win the MAC tourney.

NOTE: Ended up playing small leans on EMU/CMU game over, St John/Gtown 1H under, St John/Gtown game under.

I definitely like under St.Johns/Georgetown. On the other side though. I am staying away from NIll/Kent State, too many unknown factors. Good luck Alexander.

i do not like NIU +6 1H or St John's +4 1H. they may well be the correct side, but i think they are both coinflips. of those, i like St Johns 1H under best, although that's a very low number. i'm playing that small as a lean. don't like OU -2 much b/c don't like giving points 1H.
