I'm an NC State alum and I would lay off that bet if I were you. Not saying they won't cover for certain, they could, but traditionally the Pack does not play well at Clemson and I would be hard pressed to believe this young team has recovered mentally/emotionally from the ass-raping they got from the zebras on Saturday @ Syracuse to be ready for Clemson's dog fight mentality. Last year with a junior/senior laden team State needed a last second miracle three from Scott Wood to win the game. Clemson's NCAA Tournament dreams are hanging on by a thread, they have to have to this game and are going to come out determined to clamp down on NCSU. I think that intensity knocks the Pack back and they never recover because they are too damned immature/inexperienced/mentally weak to do so. I could be wrong, but State loves to play up/down to the level of their competition. Wouldn't be shocked to see Clemson win this one 63-54 or something like that.

And State was much better last year than this year while Clemson wasn't nearly as tough, and again, the Pack needed a desperation 3 as time expired to win. NC State has five new starters compared to last year's team. PG Lo Brown/SG Purvis/SG Wood/SF CJ Leslie/PF Richard Howell are all gone. New teams, new year.




And I wouldn't put much stock in the recent trends this season either. Clemson's lines were all a reaction to their win against a totally funked Duke team. Public overreacted to it and the books had to adjust to favor Clemson more than they should have. Don't want to make the same mistake here and go big on State just because they played Cuse tough. Remember both Duke/UVA waxed these guys by 30.




Obviously you gotta make the decision to pull the trigger or not, I'm just telling you, it's not a SAFE bet. You could win. I sure as hell hope the Pack wins straight up tonight. I believe they can and I hope they will. But I've seen this movie far too many times over the years to sit back and let an innocent bystander throw their money down the drain thinking the Pack is better than they actually are. To tell you the truth, I value these types of opinions more than any other. Someone who's seen the program trends because they're a fan and can apply an unbiased opinion to gambling. It's the same way for me with LSU and the Saints. You know the little things that the average go-er does not.

I put less into the recent trends and more into actually watching both teams play quite a bit this year. I think Clemson is a tough tough team that plays really well at home and plays good defense I see them covering this here against NC State

Madcap is right. It's probably too risky. However, I will say this. So far under Coach Mark Gottfried, when NC State's backs were against the wall and they needed a win to help their post season chances, he's had the guys ready and they've performed well. I actually think they'll come out firing tonight and I won't be surprised if they win. Kyle Washington, freshman, had a great game against Syracuse and I think the game is really starting to slow down for him. I think State matches up well with Clemson and I'll be surprised if this game doesn't go down to the wire. I definitely don't see Clemson blowing us out. Not when they have one player averaging double figures.
