Maryland has been playing better ball as of late thanks to the play of Dez Wells. Any team that is going to compete against Virginia is going to need a solid point guard to limit the turnovers against Virginia's defense which is one of the best in the country. Both Dez Wells and Seth Allen match up well with Virginia's guards which leads to Dez Wells keeping this game close for Maryland and Virginia has a lackluster performance that they are probably due for in conference play.
