'are the books trying to do something sneaky?'
does anyone use this logic while handicapping games?
just wondering, because i suck at it, it always backfires.
i see some others doing it, and it's maybe even working for you.
to me it's just confusing. i'm just going to skip these 'trap' games that are just lines they put up that look off.

In years past... Wichita state and Boise state and these lines would be easy fades. 99 out of 100 times the unranked team at home covered vs the ranked team. But for some reason this year it seems like the rank team covers.

well said. that's what i gathered, that people do it because it's worked for them in the past. the bets i've been winning this year are the ones that look normal, like george washington -10 or duke -17.5. just regretting not using better bankroll management and betting on a team that i thought was the worse team, because of a betting system, but i'm sure it does work long term like you say.
