This is a really interesting match-up. Notre Dame fresh of the Duke win having to face a very hungry Nc State coming off a second half implosion @ home against Pittsburgh. The Irish only laying 5.5 @ home where they have been as good as anybody over the last several years? That's no brainer right? Not so fast.
Notre Dame has home losses to Indiana St and North Dakota St already on the season and they are in a let down spot after beating Duke. I believe the young Wolfpack match up very well w/ the Irish. They are very athletic and really pound the ball inside, while working the shot clock down. They have the ability to really slow this game down on the road. I don't think Notre Dame will have an answer for TJ Warren & Anthony Barber should be able to keep Atkins from getting the rim at will much better than Duke's guards did.
Both squads rank towards the bottom in FTA/FGA but the key to the game will be NC State's 3 point defense. This game is going to be a grind and if they can limit the Irish ability to score from deep (which they are one of the best in the nation at doing that) that will equate to limiting runs and getting the crowd going. Speaking of the crowd its -7 degrees in South Bend & I know they have a loyal fan base but you gotta think several fans will be sitting at home w/ that temperature.
Notre Dame is only fouling about 15 times per and NC State 18 & both teams do a great job of taking care of the ball, so the clock should be running throughout this one.
I see a lot of long possessions and a possible upset here.
I think the public will be on the other of both of my plays so waiting to see if I'll get a better line but if not I'll still play the +5.5 and u 140
Also,
This is a no brainer, Duke coming off road loss back at home against a team that can't score the ball. Blue Devils will light them up early.
