How come coming out the 2nd half on a big run is the ultimate curse?

Everytime I have a team bet and they go on a big run to start the 2nd half they lose...... why is this so?

clemson started 2nd half 9-0 and somehow lost the game, any insight?

Its a game of runs, 9 pts is nothing, especially on the road.
