At first glance, I wanted to jump on Clemson-5 1/2. But after I looked at the numbers, I'm not so sure. IMO the two biggest factors in being a good basketball team is defense and rebounding. Clemson has the advantage in both as Auburn cant play D at all. They are giving up 77ppg. That's ridiculous at the college level. They can score points though, averaging 75.9ppg. They also shoot 29 free throws a game as opposed to Clemsons 18.
Clemson averages 5 more rebounds per game and gives up 25.3 less pts per game(51.7). Clemson has 5% edge in FT%. Clemson also averages 7.4 blocks a game as opposed to Auburns 4. Neither team has had to play anyone that tough. Only Auburn has played a ranked team and they got throttled.
I think Auburn "Gets up" for this game and has a shot to win it at the end. Lets face it, every home team gets 2-3 extra calls a game. So Auburn should get a few extra free throws tonight, as if 29 aren't enough. I think this is 1-2 point game either way. GL
