I like this one a lot. Kent St lost by 4 to Akron in January, but were leading at halftime and fell apart in the last few minutes of play. Akron's starting point guard Abreu was just ARRESTED for possession of 5 pounds of weed. Abreu (10ppg, 6 assists, 41% FG, 40% 3pt) led the offense. His replacement will most likely be Betancourt, an inexperienced freshman. Usually when teams have a controversy & bad press they fall apart (ie: Wyoming earlier this season, Cincy & Xavier after the brawl, etc.)
MERCER-8 vs USC Upstate.
Mercer is leading the Atlantic Sun Conf and needs to win the tourney to get an auto bid. In two matchups this season Mercer won by 8 and won by 11 more recently. They were winning by double digits a good majority of both contests. USCU lost by an average of 10pts in their L's this winter, lost by 11 @ home vs Mercer, played last night and struggle on short rest. Mercer played two nights ago and is no stranger to playing on 1 day's rest. This conference tourney is also in Mercer's hometown.
FGCU -5 vs Stetson.
Don't know as much about this game other than Florida Gulf Coast is in 2nd in the conference and some are picking them to win the tourney and get the bid. They split with stetson, winning by 31 and losing by single digits. Figure they should be able to put Stetson away.
