Well, I've been on a relatively hot streak lately doing "fun" bets and wagers....Like playing parlays where you can buy up to 9 points!...Very similar to teasers!...payouts aren't really that great but damn most of the games hit relatively easy without having to sweat it!.....won three bills last night on this 6 team parlay....Thank god Illinois hit that "meaningless" three pointer at the buzzer to make the number land on 8!..

I think Nova wins the game as well but no way in hell do they win by double digits against a quality team like G-Town!...They simply aren't that good unless G-Town really shits the bed and shoots ice cold...You really believe they are going to blow out the Hoyas tonight?!...Georgetown is one of the hottest teams in the country right now and they are looking to clinch the BE title ouright with a win tonight and not to mention a first round bye in the BE tournament...Also, they are still in contention for a #1 seed...We shall see.

^^...I never bought in on the "crossing the 0" theory....There isn't any empirical data one way or the other to suggest the % of games that hit or lose when wagering like that...It's just like any other wager....you either take the points or give them!...For example, I think that both Colorado and Virginia will win straight up...both teams need the game to increase their tourney hopes and have extra motivation...however I will gladly take some insurance points just in case the game is close and both of them happen to stumble their toes!...

I agree that it rarely matters, but the data is definitely there on the crossing through 0. If we compare going from +7 to +11 vs. -2 to +2, for the sake of simplicity, let's say that those 4 points bring a line from -110 to -270 (two -270 parlays pays out about -110, so we can assume that's a pretty fair number).

Going from 7-11, you have 7.5,8,8.5,9,9.5,10,10.5,11.... 8 numbers that all are relevant, so we are paying 20 cents per half point.

Going from -2 to +2 you have -1.5,-1,-.5,0,+.5,+1,+1.5,+2...... Those 3 middle numbers (.5's and 0) cannot land or affect the outcome. So we really are only getting 5 half points here, hence paying 32 cents per half point.

I may be wrong in that we should only discredit 2 numbers in the middle, not all 3, but even then, you are still only getting 6 half points, which comes out to ~26.5 cents per half point.

Doesn't that suck when ONE TEAM loses!!!! Louisiana Tech f'd you up. If I were you I would have added MSU as a teaser. I usually don't like picking the favorite on teasers, usually I use the underdog for the teaser, but not when you are playing MSU at the Breslin. There was no way MSU was gonna lose 2 in a row at home and 4 in a row total.

But of all of those I really thought Louisiana Tech may have been the BEST BET, who would expect a 26-3 team to lose to a 19-10 team by more than 10
