I have been tracking a few lines today in the NBA but this time of year is difficult due to all the playoff jocking.

Interested to see what you have for the NBA, Shiva... I agree with you about this time of year. A certain angle comes into play, however... The need vs the want. Who needs to win, who wants to win?

What I mean is, I look at teams on the "bubble" of the playoffs and teams that have solidified a spot. Teams on the bubble need to win, and a want to win. Teams who sit all the way at the top have want to win, but no need. Teams who float in the middle (will make the playoffs but at a middle seed) lack want and need.

The teams who lack want, and need, are suspect to the spread.
My considerations for tonight:
The Hawks (3) who struggle on the road, playing a beat up Raptors squad who is anything but consistent. Atlanta has more of a need and a want here. I like them.
The Knicks +1 at home where they play very well, continuing a very hot streak, against a battered Grizzlies squad with less need or want to win..
The Rockets -5 at home where they also play very well, and play a Pacers team that I wouldn't be surprised shows up a little flat tonight in their first of 2 road games over tonight and tomorrow.

I don't know how to check their 2nd half record vs the spread but I swear I'm 10-0 with them. They have to have the best 2nd half record in the NBA vs the spread. And yeah I got tilted and gave back 2k. I bet soccer a lot and lost $1000 yesterday on Mexico vs the US. Mexico absolutely was killing the US. The refs missed 2 penalties inside the box and Mexico could not connect on 15 corners. Happens. But I have my biggest bet of the night on Portland -7 2nd half. GL
