I look at both teams records. 14-8 vs 2-14 etc. Then their division standings. If it is close, I go with the underdog.

For my parlays, I take 3 or 4 I feel are sure shot by their records and standings, some times sbrforum . 5th one I take both sides i.e. create 2 parlays. So that winning one parlay will make a lot of $$$.
