Alright. With these games today I have my final plays.

Illinois State -11.5 vs Southern Illinois
-I'm telling you folks, this Redbirds team is better than what their record shows. Ill St already beat SIU by 14 at SIU. Also Ill St has won their past two games at home and they are 3-1 in their past four. I really think this team is coming together and getting back into a grove like they had in the non conference season. Ill St has great leadership from Jackie Carmichael and Tyler Brown.

Wichita State -1 at Northern Iowa
-Wichita St just came off of that devastating loss at home against Indiana State. The Shockers absolutely need this win the remain in the top 25. I think you'll see Wichita St dominate the post and shoot well from beyond the three point line, exactly what they didn't do against Indiana State. The Shockers are 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings with UNI. All trends point to WSU in this one.

Indiana State -2 at Drake
-This is the least amount I'm wagering on a team today. Indiana State just came off of a great win at Wichita State. Currently ESPN Bracketology has ISU as an at-large bid. That should like a flame under neither the Sycamores. This is probably the most important game of there season so far. Ind St can't drop anymore of these games, already did at SIU and at Morehead St. I believe Gant and Odum have overcome their illness that they had at Wichita State. The Sycamores are 7-1 ATS in their last eight meetings against Drake.


On the other two MVC games I'm not taking any action. But if I were it would be Missouri State ML +105. And Creighton -17. Good luck today men!

UNI isn't a bad team. They have a great coach in Ben Jacobson. UNI played Louisville to a close game and only lost by 5. Also only lost by 5 against Memphis. UNI beat St. Mary's CA. I'm shocked that Indiana State beat them at their place. But they controlled us the whole game here in Terre Haute. We just got lucky and won. And Indiana State is the hottest team in the valley right now. I just think WSU is more athletic and as much as a hate Greg Marshal I believe he will have his boys prepared for this game. I have this one capped at a 8-13 point win for WSU. This game has waaaay more importance for WSU than UNI.

How is this for wild:
Creighton was picked to win the MVC. (No shocker there). But where it gets interesting is Wichita State was picked to finish 4th and they are tied for first. Indiana State was picked to finish 7th and the Sycamores are one game out of first, currently alone in second place. As I've said before, the MVC is unpredictable at times.

Been out the past few days. Wow. What a loss to take on the Indiana State game, really sucks. Ind St really needed that game and blew it in overtime. On the other hand Illinois State really put on a show which was nice. Tomorrow night is the good ole Indiana State Creighton matchup. 7:05 Terre Haute time. I believe it is on ESPN3. Early lines I think are about -5 for the Jays. I hope you got to see Coach Lansing on "Katz Corner" today. Writeup for this game here in a bit......

Illinois State at Creighton -9 10pm ESPN2

Great matchup here for mid major fans. This game has two of the best offenses in the nation. Expect McDermott and Carmichael to be battling all night down low, I'm going to love that matchup! The Jays are coming off of a 19 point loss at Indiana State and the Redbirds are coming off of a 8 point win at Drake. That is something neither Indiana State or Creighton could do this season. Illinois State had a great non conference record, but struggled at the beginning of the conference season. Since that 0-6 start in the MVC the Redbirds have since gone 5-1. I believe that CU is the way to go in this matchup because:
Play great coming off of losses.
Favorite is 4-1 ATS in the past 5 meetings
Creighton is 14-4 ATS after a SU loss


With tonights game being nationally televised it is a prime time for Doug McDermott to show why he is player of the year. Coach McDermott will have his boys ready, especially after the poor performance at Indiana State. Doug won't have another 8 point game like he did against Indiana State. Expect to see some better three point shooting tonight from the Jays.

Well split on the Saturday games. Losing a bit. But feel confident about this week. This weeks games follow. Games in bold are games of interest.

Tuesday:
Indiana State at Missouri State +4
-Lean Sycamores

Wednesday:
Bradley at Illinois State
-Lean Illinois State. Bradley in a look ahead game, they play Indiana State on Saturday. Illinois State is rolling.
Creighton at Northern Iowa
-Unpredictable on what CU team will show up. I've learned my lesson.
Drake at Wichita State
-Lean Wichita State. They will shut down Ben Simmons and won't let Drake make as many threes.
Evansville at Southern Illinois
-Lean Southern Illinois.

Saturday:
Indiana State at Bradley
-Lean Bradley. Indiana State is also in a look ahead for Wichita State at home on Wednesday. Big trap game for ISU.
Creighton at Evansville
-No play because of the unpredictable Jays.
Northern Iowa at Drake
-Two teams competing to stay out of the play in game in Saint Louis. These games to avoid the play in game are more important than anything. Lean Drake.
Missouri State at Souther Illinois
-Southern gets a good chance to get a home win. The two worst teams in the conference. Strong lean on the Salukis.

Could I ask your take on what would hold more weight?

Recent results: for example: Team A, that is playing much harder over the last couple weeks and playing Tougher D (even tho they always force a lot of turnovers) and hitting more shots than usual. Team B of recent results, a team who is struggling more than usual as of late, and live and die by the 3 (havent had much success with them lately except for in the last W)

or

Previous Matchup of Season: Team A, forcing their usual large amount of turnovers (18), but only connecting 34% from the field, and not playing a successful enough perimiter Defense to allow Team B to shoot 60% from 3 land and 65% overall from the field. Team B: hitting 3's like they were layups and housing Team A on the boards by a 20 rebound margin on their way to a 30 point victory on the ROAD!

Obviously you know what two teams I am speaking of, My gut has me taking the 15.5 points (took it last night, it is down to 14 now). That being said, I wouldnt be surprised if the 3's come raining down again tonight!

Sorry I didn't post anything. But stayed away from Indiana State. I would've posted if I put anything on them. Bad game for the Sycamores. An even worse ending with some bad calls down the stretch. Refs didn't have any control over the game. Missouri Valley has the most pathetic officials in the NCAA. I'm not saying that in a biased fashion, lots of bad calls went against the Shox the other night. Also the horrendous officiating in the Illinois State Wichita State game. Those refs even got reprimanded for their actions late in the second half.

I've been perplexed with the MVC in the recent weeks. There are two conference games remaining for each team. Also each team has a bracket buster left. The BB to look for is the Creighton at Saint Mary's game. That should be an awesome game to watch. But as for conference games I will not take any action in the next game. It will be pure evaluation of the teams. It will also be time for me to regroup and focus on the MVC tourney, ARCH MADNESS. As for the last game of the conference season there are some good ones. I will for sure be posting some plays on those games. Those last games include Crieghton vs Wichita State, Illinois State vs Northern Iowa, and Evansville vs Indiana State. Those games are going to be carrying a bunch of weight into the conference tourney. My sleeper in the MVC tourney is Illinois State. Other than Creighton and Wichita State they have the best chances of winning in. That would be a huge bubble burster for some NCAA tournament hopefuls. That is a little recap on what I have been up to. I'll be back later next week and around MVC tourney time.

Indiana State head coach said something very important today. It is important for the Sycamore fans to realize. He noted that he is going to take the next series of events like three seasons:
1. Last three games of the regular season.
2. Conference tourney
3. Post season
This is why I like Greg Lansing as a coach. Remember his name because I believe he will be at a major school sooner than you may think.

I found one play I like in this game. Not touching that -6 or +6. The play I like here is the Under 154. Basic math shows that both teams need to score 77 a piece. Indiana State will not touch 77 points. They don't have it in them at all. The reason they don't have it in them is because Iona isn't good enough. Indiana State plays to the level of their competition, so they won't come out and blow these guys out. I believe if Indiana State wins I think Iona will stay under 63 points, the magic number for Indiana State. The Gaels do average 81.5 ppg, but that is with a lot of overtime games and against crap teams. Plus Iona hasn't seen a defense like Indiana State. This is my first play in a while I have actually went big on. The only ways for this to possibly go over is:
1. Iona scores 84 points, because I don't think Indiana State will get much more than 70.
2. Overtime. Could happen in this game, but I'm still confident it would stay under with 5 more minutes of play.
