Both home games. Won't make a difference. Back to backs happen all the time in conference tourneys but it is unusual though for the regular season.

No. It was done on purpose. I'm a huge Duke fan. Coach K ALWAYS gets the players at least 6 days off for Christmas break. Been doing it for years.
It's not like it really matters either. Duke isn't going to lose tonight lol. So what's the harm?

i don't think that there is any harm at all. in fact, just like playing in huge cavernous arenas helps prepare teams for tourney time, this arguably helps prepare for conference tourneys. i just never noticed back-to-backs before, but then again, i'm not a huge Duke fan so not surprised that i didn't.

The other thing it does is, it shows how much Coach K really cares for his players. He wants them to spend time with their families at Christmas time. What a great man. If I had a kid who played basketball and could pick any coach for him to play for, without a doubt, it would be K.
I mean look at a guy like Bob Huggins. Never graduated a player in his life when he was at Cincinnati. That is disgraceful. Why don't you just come out and tell parents that all you want to do is win basketball games and that you don't give a shit about them at all.
Another reason why K is best.

yeah, not looking to get into the whole human interest story thing, but Coach K is in my top five. that reminds me - i have to refigure my top five with Majerus' passing. that sucks. if my son can pick any coach, i'd probably lean Izzo or Stevens, but that's no knock on coach K. i'll never forget Izzo's reaction to Kalin Lucas' injury. talk about something that shows that you care about your players.

LOL they are not going to lose. Even if they did, isn't spending Christmas with your family and friends more important than a basketball game?

depends. it's probably more important to basketball players than to posters on message boards, but what do i know?
out of curiosity, in daily life, do you pepper every sentence with the importance of being with family on holidays? kinda chicky.

hard to discuss a gm when you get blindsided by useless fanboy drivel... funny that huggins is "shameful" for giving kids a chance that puke and your idol wouldnt let walk on their campus,,,what a fukkin joke,,what a hero taking the smartest, most privileged kids in the country! way to make a difference coach K, lmfao...insult huggins for giving kids from broken homes, terrible situations, half the time illiterate, a chance? hard to graduate a kid that cant fukkin read, but i bet he helped plenty do a lot more with their lives than they would have if we only had the likes of puke and coach k around..what a great man letting his spoiled kids fly home for xmas, and graduating kids with high iqs and good backgrounds!
dude a great coach, spare us the rest of this crap,,,huggins kids cant afford to go home for xmas unless they getting some "improper benefits"....

If you think Huggins gave a flying fukk about any of those kids that played for him then you are delusional. You are also delusional if you think anyone would be better off in Huggins' hands than in K's.
98% of those kids that played for Huggins didn't even qualify to go to college. That proves Huggins never gave a fukk about them but only wanted them there to serve his interests. You can't read? It's ok as long as you play basketball for me you can come here. Yeah..... great guy that Bob Huggins is ain't he?

You might look at Elon TT under 59.5 also. I took Cornell under 57.5 last night and after a sluggish start, Duke shut them down the last 25 minutes or so. Do not expect Elon to come out of the gates as quickly as Cornell did last night.

i think this all makes the most sense, i mean when was that age i had a summer where id be in gym either playing serious pickup gms (some full some half) and in between working on my game or just shooting for 4-5 hours a day, hell even now id be sore next day but soon as got the juices flowing id be good to go,,if anything i think they be sharper than normal early on, if there any fatigue id assume after half (still doubt then but def could see little letdown if they come out and handle business early).... Elon not good shooters and think im with you guys and expect dukies to be sharp early and put this one away before half.. i can get -13.5, pretty tempted..

im leaning to sticking with the one play i liked today,,,i normally never get involved in these big ass spreads unless it taking the dog, and that usually only when i can get a highly ranked team that either more defensive or plays with a slower pace... out of curiosity would you mind saying why you lean that way? always like to hear points of view..

Duke took a while to pull away last night finished at 11 by half an Cornell wasn't even playing good tons of turnovers no 3 point scoring to support an duke on a b2b with a 6 day break an Xmas after this game I highly doubt they will show up motivated in the begiaining plus people can say well duke starters sat the last 8 mins but I don't buy it they still are not used to it there not nba players! Plus Elon shoots 3's this alone is why I don't think they get blown out! I just think its a bad spot for duke to be focused!

LOL @ scheduling B2B games... This was one of the more arrogant things I have seen from a coach in a while.
Basically he is saying we are so good, and these other teams are so inferior that minimal prep time(or none vs Elon) is needed to win.
Pure arrogance.
