Let's talk about Wichita-Tennessee (PK), shall we?

Finally a decent college hoops matchup this week.

Wichita is long and athletic. I haven't seen Tennessee much. They opened as a fave against a ranked opponent on their home court (pre-market at least -- Pinny had them at +1), which usually indicates pound town, but I don't know if I can trust the Vols here. I'm kind of leaning Shockers for now.

I watched them beat the living shit out of Iowa, Tulsa and DePaul, and beat VCU at VCU. I'm not convinced Tennessee's better than any of those teams.

I was at the VCU and Wichita game... VCU had a horrible offensive night especially at the line, but I have to give credit to Wichita they are a tough high tempo defense team just like VCU. it was a dogfight and after watching a couple Tennessee games I don't think there offense will matchup very well against Wichita. I think Wichita is legit this year and hungry to keep the streak alive on the road. Probably staying away from game but lean is Wichita

Ive been on Tenn and watching their last two games where they covered against Georgetown but got whooped at Virginia. They can't score at all! However Tenn is a tough environment to play in and that alone will keep them in this ball game. I will analyze this a bit further and might possibly have a play tomorrow.

Tennessee cannot shoot to save their life. I dont know much about wichita state but you cant back a team like tennessee unless the team they are playing are also awful jump shooters

Wichita on a 10 player rotation right now,but their stout defense should be enough to keep the vols at bay to take the win in this one IMO.
Everybody is saying the Vols team is tough right now... but they're looking pretty cupcake-y to me.
Hell, I could be wrong...but I think Wichita holds them down defensively and wins a close single digit game

wichita great road team...vols pretty good home team...its a tough and have already flip flopped on a side too many times...final lean would be shockers...they are favored for a reason i think.

Also I like the Shockers because of their defense, poise on the road, and tennessee's awful offense.
HOWEVER, I can see this being close. Last year Tennessee played extremely well at home...Losing to kentucky by 3, and beating Uconn.

The only significant defensive factor Tennessee has is a great Opp 3PT average. I don't think it will make much of a difference in this game because Wichita will control the pace and adjust if they need to.

Wichita also is consistent with their 55% 2PT shots.

I'd lean towards Tenny because they are just as good as Wichita if they played 1000 times... BUT Tenny seems like they are really struggling lately and I hate backing teams who don't have confidence in shooting the basketball. Add in the fact that Wichita is very well coached with the smarter players and it makes my power ratings moot
