#9Looking at the last two games that each of these teams has played (only comparable games IMO to look at):
Monmouth lost to Georgia St by 13, about 7 each half. Just steadily outplayed the first half. I did see that Geo St did have the lead up to 17 or 18 that game at one point second half, kind of layed off maybe towards the end??? Probably.
Monmouth beat South Alabama by 2. They ONLY won that game bec Steele was fouled with ONE second left and was shooting a 3??? He hit all 3 free throws to have Mon win by 2. Good win, but little lucky I thought.
Monmouth does shoot about 18-20 3 pointers a game on average. If they are not hitting their 3's, they will not hang around this game at all. Again, my opinion.
Monmouth has hit 25 fouls for the game or close to it in both of these games, so they do foul quite a bit from what I see.
Tenn St got absolutely SCREWED when they lost to Geo St yesterday. They only lost by 2 bec Tenn St hit a layup with a few seconds left to go up 2. The dude from Geo St threw a 47 foot shot up at halfcourt range......and it went in! Unreal. Tenn St should be 2-3 instead of 1-4, no doubt about it. I see them at 2-3 really. They lost each half by 1 point, but that finish was insane! Horrible luck for Tenn st, they lost a game they should of won. 47 footers don't go in very often with 1 second left.
Tenn St beat South Alabama by 9. They had the lead up to 17 that game and let off the gas pedal I guess to only win by 9. They won the first half by 12 and kept pushing early second half, until starters came out and the game was comfortably in hand. And they ONLY hit 26% of their 3 pointers that game. Still were up 17 at one point, wow.
Tenn St does get to the free throw line about 18-20 times per game. So they do like to attack the basket. This might be good against a team that is usually in foul trouble every game.
Just some info on the last two games played by each team the last 2 days. Both played the same opponents, so I think you can get a read on how these two teams have been playing recently and their form as well. BOL to everyone who takes this game.
Leaning: Tenn St -5 (buy hook)
Any other info would be greatly appreciated. ThanksComment -

#11Does Tenn St have some shooters? I will be honest I don't know anything about either of these teams. Looking to trail if there is some good knowledge out there. Thanks also Dmoneytx for that piece of info.Comment -

#15From what I keep looking at, I feel like Tenn St is the side. I know the numbers for Monmouth are decent, but they put up almost 100 on horrible Hofstra team, inflates their stats a bit IMO. The next game, Notre Dame had them down almost 30 points until they layed off and cruised home. I see that Georgia St was blowing Monm out up by 17 or more, then pulled starters and win by 13. That was a team that Tenn St would of BEAT, if Geo St didn't make that 50 ft shot at the buzzer, freak shot obviously. That tells me something there. Then against South Alabama, Monm ONLY wins bec homeboy is fouled shooting a three pointer, of all shots, and hits all 3 to win with a second left. Tenn St was rolling South Alabama by 17!! Until they layed off and cruised home to win by 9 or 10.
Just by looking at teams they have similarily played in just the last two days each, Tenn St looks by far to be the better team and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them win by 7-9 point range today. Could Monmouth win?? Of course they could. But they will have to NOT foul so much, hit MORE than average on their 3 pointers and keep Tenn St off the free throw line. If all that doesn't happen, I don't see how Monm stays within 5 points. Just my opinion, but Tenn St SHOULD win this game. And I just don't think it comes down to the wire and they squeak it out by 2 or 3 or some last second shot to win. NO WAY we see that after the fouled 3 pointer with 1 second left and a half court shot with 1 second left. I think Tenn St plays well enough to beat Monm, hopefully by 10 range.Comment -

#16I agree I went back and looked and the stats and prior opponents and such. I do like Tenn St a little more. I think it will be close in to the 2nd half but i like the aggressiveness of State here. I am taking them and will be checking scoremobile at work.....

#21Wow, I left my computer and Tenn St was up 7. I just sat down, they are down 4. Hope they can come back to get it even by half. Damn, I was hoping to come back and see them up double digits, down 4????? Come on.
A friend of mine said "small ball" sucks in any sport. Not even worth betting on. I really thought Tenn St should beat a Monm team that should of lost to South Alabama. And Tenn St blows out South Ala?? UGH!Comment -

#22Tenn St up by 3 with 3:13 left. Monm goes on an 8-1 run! WOW! Choke by Tenn St to finish that half, ouch...
Correction, 11-1 run to finish the half, made all 3 three pointers at the end. Tenn St down 7???? Fukkin hilarious!!! Thought they could of been UP 8 or so during that half. Sorry ev1, small ball is a waste of time and money I am quickly learning. Horrible finish by Tenn St. If they lose to Monmouth, wow, they are terrible IMO. ARG!Comment -

#24Monmouth only made 13 shots that half, 8 were three pointers. WOW! That is gross. And they won the half by 7??? Bigger WOW! Tenn St went 1-10 for three pointers and turned the ball over 16 times. SIXTEEN!! How can you plan for that, staggering..........Comment -

#28So you make that comment 5 mins into the second half and its your first post on this game??? LOL!! Thread started before the game, we are trying to help each other get info & you post in mid second half how one team is garbage. Great insight!! Watch Tenn St come back and Monm goes super cold. I would LMFAO!!!
Second thought: If Monm does win this game, I cannot see BOTH underdogs winning in this tment today! Geo St should beat South Alabama for sure. Especially if Tenn St doesn't come back! Again, just my opinion.Comment -
