Jamaal Franklin and Chase Tapley have been playing outstanding and our new pickups Winston Shepherd, Skylar Spencer and even J.J O'Brien (a transfer from Utah who had to sit out last year on the SDST practice squad because of a transfer eligibility requirements) are playing very well. The difference with this team compared to last is cohesion, and when I referenced "sources" one of them being Stever Fisher - the head coach of SDST. is a regular at the restaurant I work at part-time on the weekends and he will talk about "game plans" at the bar - referencing his team's strategies and that of MWC opponents, information you wouldn't normally be able to attain from radio or research.
The biggest challenge to SDST is New Mexico, they seem to always play the Aztecs well, and UNLV has always been a tough common opponent, but SDST has played well against UNLV covering ATS and even winning SU at home and away. I do however like the size and agility of UNLV's big men they run the court and tend to build big leads going into the half, their issue as well as SDST's is slowing down in the 2nd half. As evidenced by SDST almost allowing a backdoor cover to USD, and UNLV's close win vs. UTEP after leading by DD. UNLV is a great team to back at home esp. when covering DD spreads of up to 10-14 I was really surprised New Mexico lost to South Dakota State after a 1,220 mile bus trip to Albuquerque, Kendall Williams and Chad Adams are great players and I'm interested to see how they play at Cincinnati (11). I could write more but I'll add more to your thread when I see some good lines.
The next few games will be a great indication of where teams are headed but for now I'd have to rank teams as such:
1. San Diego State
2. New Mexico (would be #1 without that loss to South Dakota St. as I referenced earlier.)
3. UNLV
4. Wyoming (pending their game vs. Boise St, if they win they deserve to be at least top 2-3. They just don't have the same talent IMHO as the top 3.)
5. Colorado St. (9-2)
6. Boise St. (8-2)
7. Air force. (8-2)
When conference play begins we'll be able to sift through some contenders in this conference, but it is very deep this year, in fact last few years.Comment -

#286Well...seattles offense is for real. I knew they were rollin', but thought it was more a case of playing poor defenses. My read on the way last nights game would go couldnt have been more wrong. With hindsight, the over and seattle TT (which was 21.5) were 2 of the easiest plays of the day. Cant win em all, but i hate being SO FAR off.
Who ya like in bowl game tonight?
Need a winner to recoup last night's multi-unit loss.
Thanks, houli.Comment -
