SEASON OUTLOOK
Coach: Jim Larranaga (second season, UM record 21-15, career record 490-347).
Last season: The Hurricanes finished the regular season 20-13 and tied for fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Their nine ACC victories were most since joining the conference, and included signature wins at then-No. 7 Duke and at home against No. 15 FSU. They reached the second round of the NIT.
Top players: 6-10 Sr. C Reggie Johnson (10.0 ppg, 7.2 rpg), 6-5 Sr. G Durand Scott (12.9 ppg), 6-11 Sr. F/C Kenny Kadji (11.7 ppg), 5-11 Soph. G Shane Larkin (7.4 ppg)
Noteworthy: Nine players are back from last year’s team, including six seniors. The returning players accounted for 80 percent of the scoring and 86 percent of the rebounding. Senior F/C Julian Gamble is back after missing all of last season following knee surgery. The schedule includes home games vs. Michigan State, Duke, Florida State and North Carolina.
