    Regul8er Rocks the Books (NBA)
I'm pretty excited the NBA is back upon us. I can't cap baseball or football for the life of me, but I've won a few bucks in my time on hoops. We'll start with 1 unit the first few weeks.

    1st Pick - Milwaukee (+6.5) 1 unit

Two teams that had very difficult seasons last year look to get back on track this year. Except with the addition of Derrick Rose, Chicago has a very familiar look, but Milwaukee has really made an effort to improve by acquiring Jefferson. Plus, Skiles has some motivation heading to the United Center on opening night. He'll have his Bucks ready to go.

    2nd Pick - Portland/LA Lakers OVER (194.5) 1 unit

Nobody could stop the Lakers from scoring last year, and I hardly doubt a young, inexperienced Portland team has the ability to do so either on opening night. Of there 4 meetings last year, 3 went over 195, 2 of them over 215. I can see Portland wanting to use its young legs to run up and down the floor, but the Lakers will certainly be up to the challenge as they too love running in the open floor. I can see the Lakers scoring 105 to 110, meaning if Portland can shoot around 40%, this one should cash!

    GOODLUCK!!

Tough start to the season. Let's see if we can get back to .500 on the young season!

    1st Pick - Toronto (+5.5) 1 unit

A battle of two teams who will be in the thick of things in the East come April. I really like the acquisition of O'Neal and I really think he'll be motivated to show the doubters he can still play. Bosh will be steady and Calderone will become a household name (if he isn't already). Besides, I think the city of Brotherly Love has other things on there minds tonight. Close game from start to finish, I see the Raps winning outright.

    2nd Pick - Oklahoma City (-3) 1 unit

How can this line not stand out to you? Exciting young talent who will feed off the energy tonight in its franchise opener. Milwaukee comes in after spiralling to a disappointing opener night loss at the hands of the Bulls. Back to back first two nights of the year with a fairly significant length of travel? All signs point towards a Thunder Storm tonight.

    Goodluck

Very long season indeed.. Just keep the games rolling you will hit gold soon. Also i really like your two picks for the day. Toronto really going to be a team to recon with, with O'neal.

Toronto covered easily, Oklahoma City wasn't even close! The Bucks are killing me early on. Only one pick tonight, can't get a good read on the late games.

          1st PICK - Charlotte/Cleveland OVER (183.5) 1 unit

With the addition of a run and gun type PG in Mo Williams, Cleveland will want to do just that tonight. Against Boston, James and company were forced into a slow paced game, but against Charlotte's D, things will be different. Charlotte also has some solid offensive weapons in JRich, Gerald Wallace and Emeka. I think the line may be too low based on opening night, but 175 pts isn't uncommon for a Celts game. Pound the OVER here.

Took a few days off just to watch and evaluate! Got one for tonight

            1st PICK - Utah/LA CLIPPERS UNDER (183.5) 1 unit

These two teams squared off 2 nights ago and combined for 180. Both explosive point guards (Deron Williams and Baron Davis) are both sidelined. I don't see how the Clippers are going to score enough points to get this game over the total.

Solid pick yesterday, back on track. Just to note, I am only tracking the selections in this thread for my overall record. I am playing LT's parlay thread for fun. Many of my selections here, I will have an end or possibly both in that thread. With that said:

              1st PICK - Phoenix (-5.5) 1 Unit

I was expecting this line to be somewhere between 8 and 10 points. I think the public is still giving the Nets too much credit either because they still have Vince Carter or their reputation from past years. Lets be honest, this team is not very good. I can't believe Josh Boone is starting in the NBA. Do you really think the likes of Boone, Jianlian or Lopez are gonna slow down Amare or Shaq? I think not! To top this off, the Suns have a distinct advantage with their guard play and bench. Phoenix in a landslide!

Amen to all of that and as a Nets season ticket holder... it's easy to see their weaknesses this year. Amare will dominate on the inside.

Getting back on track, lets keep it going in the late game tonight.

                    1st PICK - LA Clippers (+13.5) 1 Unit

Call me crazy, but I'm going to try my luck with the struggling Clippers. Sure this team hasn't looked good getting blown out by 38, 10, 22 and 16 in its 4 contests! Tonight will most likely be the first time we get to see both Camby and Baron start together. I think the Clippers have some talent, and no one better to show up against then cross town rivals. I see the Clippers having some extra fire after getting blown out in everywhich way last week. I'm also hoping it takes Kobe and company a little bit of time to shake off the cobwebs not playing since Saturday. Let's call this more of a hunch play, lets hope it works out. GOODLUCK
