    Phoenix Suns! Playoffs Next Year!
Suns are my favorite team and its tough losing Nash (my favorite player).. It will affect the chemistry for sure but they can find it again. We all knew he would go anyways..

    BUT!

They got Beasley ($18mil/3yrs) who I believe is an underrated player, Goran Dragic ($30mil/4yrs) AND Luis Scola ($21mil/3yrs), who in my opinion is THE #1 MOST UNDERRATED player in the NBA. Getting him that cheaply might be the biggest steal of the offseason..

Now they have big man backup for Gortat which is huge so they won't have to play that clown Robin Lopez very much.. Scola is real smart and a good passer so hopefully he can work well with Gortat.

    Starting 5:
    1: Goran Dragic
    2: Jared Dudley
    3: Michael Beasley
    4: Luis Scola
    5: Marcin Gortat

Looks pretty ******* solid to me. Only worries is the bench play that used to be the best in the NBA is now sub-par.... What do you all think?

I can at least say they would make the playoffs if they were in the East...

I think the Suns are headed in the right direction, but your delusional thinking they can make the playoffs. Dragic, Beasley and Scola are all nice pick ups, but I don't think they are ready to compete for the playoffs, especially out West.

I think we can all agree that the Thunder, Lakers, Spurs, Grizzlies, and Clippers should most likely all make the playoffs next year. That leaves three spots left between much better teams like the Nuggets, Jazz, Mavericks, and possibly the Rockets if they get Howard or Bynum. Don't forget the Warriors and T'Wolves.

To be quite honest, I put you guys only ahead of New Orleans, Sacramento, and Portland in the West. Warriors will be good this year if they can stay healthy. Minnesota is another team too watch out for. I think they would have made the playoffs last year if it weren't for all the injuries in the 2nd half of the season.

yeah i like what the suns did also they will make the playoffs probably be a 6-8 seed and they are gonna have problems with the 2 guard position but everything else looks good. They really would of been a good team if they would of gotten gorden or mayo

Ah that is a good point Speedy. That's why I added that they would make it in the east. I think it will be tough for them just because they will need time to gel. As a Suns fan, I do remember the fact that they had a really good chance to make the 8th seed last year but they lost the last 4 or 5 games of the season.

Roster-wise they are a much better team this year. Nash is an important piece but as far as moving forward, they have made leaps and bounds.. maybe not next year..

As far as betting is concerned I'm feeling good about backing my team. I think they will probably be undervalued, especially if they have a rocky start in their first 10 games. After that they might be double digit underdogs and have a lot of value.

I was hoping for Gordon but he was awfully pricey and Im now glad that he decided to stay with N.O. It would of taken all of PHX's money to get him.

The other point I was trying to make with this post is how cheaply Phoenix got all these players. I feel like Dragic was a little pricey but I see a lot of potential with him. Getting Beasley and Scola for the same price as Gordon is huge. Nash was a facilitator and Gordon is a scorer. I wasn't entirely sure how well he would of fit. Dragic is a willing passer and came up under Nash. Scola is a willing passer as well.

Was hoping PHX got better defensively, signing Scola is nothing but keeping fans in the seats. Same old suns team that loses 119-110

Suns will struggle on defense big time. None of those guys in the starting lineup are known for defense. Not to sounds to down on your Suns either, but Marshall looks like a bonafide bust. The guy can't score more than 5 points in 30 minutes of summer league, I don't see how he will make defenses respect his offense. No matter how good of a passer you are, you have to be a threat to score the ball.

Suns will struggle this season. Not because of a lack of talent, but I think they will take a while to gel. Anytime you remodel your roster that much, it will take time for the team to come together.

Other than maybe Gortat, none of those guys are in the top 12 in the NBA at their position.
