I like playing unders, especially in the playoffs, but if the scores are close it goes to OT you're pretty much screwed.
3 or 4 times this year I got burnt on under plays that landed 10-15 points under in reg but went to overtime.
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on splitting under plays on 1H & 2H? Obviously its still possible to hit one and not the other (if you miss both the total under can't hit anyway), but it takes OT out of the equation if you play the halves not the total.
I also learnt the hard way on playing live bets. I took a live bet in 4Q on total game points under. Landed the under at end of reg but game went to OT. I now always play my live 4Q unders for the Q only, and overs in the 4Q for game total points. They're both effectively the same number, but eliminates OT (or if you bet game total over OT can be on your side).
Does anyone else use similar methods to avoid getting screwed by OT?
