Theory on playing unders and avoiding OT
I like playing unders, especially in the playoffs, but if the scores are close it goes to OT you're pretty much screwed.

3 or 4 times this year I got burnt on under plays that landed 10-15 points under in reg but went to overtime.

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on splitting under plays on 1H & 2H? Obviously its still possible to hit one and not the other (if you miss both the total under can't hit anyway), but it takes OT out of the equation if you play the halves not the total.

I also learnt the hard way on playing live bets. I took a live bet in 4Q on total game points under. Landed the under at end of reg but game went to OT. I now always play my live 4Q unders for the Q only, and overs in the 4Q for game total points. They're both effectively the same number, but eliminates OT (or if you bet game total over OT can be on your side).

Does anyone else use similar methods to avoid getting screwed by OT?

I don't play over/under for the game. Never has worked out. Might consider action for like a QTR or a half but not the whole game. I stick to other action and have done pretty well. Good Luck.

I probably play 75% sides and 25% totals in the reg season, but I'm about 50/50 in playoffs. I find it's easier to judge the pace of play and avoid tight finishes.

I played Heat/Pacers over today for 2x. Landed 18 points over which was a lot more comfortable than the spread.

Overs are ok with the OT situation as OT can only help an over.

I was mainly just curious to know whether anyone factored in possible OT to an under play.

OT helps OVERs and usually beats UNDERS....so in the longrun, its a 50/50 proposition which will even itself out with variance, so nothing to be concerned about.

I love over unders that's all i do, i just broke up with my girl about a week ago n i stay with my brother, he knows a local book and set me up an acct.I love this forum and got back to it a week ago been a member since 08 just my ex grl didnt like me sports betting, lol.Now that i don't have a job im researching games all day and back doing what i love im 8-0 in overunders since ive been back iv'e posted some of them if you look at my post can't remember but you can find them, iv'e lost one bet on a spread 6ers/c's but the rest have been over unders and im 8-0, i just have a better feeling for o/u don't know again i do research just like all of us and monitor movements all day.Hope the strek continues and im liking the under in the spurz game its gone up four points since lastnight.Clipps are demoralized the run they went on yesterday was probably the best half they have had all year and with the refs help (green pkng up 2 fouls 1st 2 seconds) they were only up by 10, what;s there to talk about in locker room, what adjustments can they make none figured they come out flat in the third and they score 8 lol.Pop will not let the clipps go off like that again i hit the under in that game and think if spurz slow the entire game down like they did n the 2nd half we will see a slow pace, refs (crawford) blowing whistles all day wont allow for any team to get n rythym.Clipps will try to come out hard get fans involed cause they know it's sucessful but again pop will shut that shit off real quick, so thinking of a slow boring game, ill try to post what i bet b4 game but might go watch it , and don't have a phone i live here is san antonio so the local bars are crazy.bol
