    NBA Live betting - profitable?
    Hey everyone,

I'm trying to see if this can be profitable ( I'm pretty sure it is ) maybe someone already doing/trying / backtested this.

The Idea is basically to take the starting line and try to "catch" a really good number during live bet when either team has a hot run in the game.

For example, I'm trying to get +8 points to the spread for either side OR +15 points for the totals

In example, OKC vs. INDY tonight I said to myself I will try to get this odds during live betting :

    OKC +5
    Indiana +11.5
    Over 185.5 / Under 215.5

Has anyone do it for quite some time now? can you comment? back tested maybe?

    Thanks!

Check out my thread I go into in depth drivel about live in play betting:

of course I write it all during the game, and it is difficult to understand cause I don't go back to edit. If you can make out what I'm saying in page 9 and other pages it is very profitable and has been for me.

Several ways to make money in live in play. You just have to understand the game. I'm sure most people play spreads and wait for situations to get + on a team they are sure will make the come back. This works a good amount of time and if you continuously hack away at it will make money. However, it also backfires a good amount of time.

I rec. just getting good at it understanding team tendencies and how scoring works from 1st half to 2nd half to final quarter. My specialty is live in play totals, and I know most people struggle with that.

VERY. I had 21 3 unit bets win in a row. My record. It was live.
Watching the game and only then betting is a lot easier. I do it everyday. I post 1 official play, but have many live bets.

You can find mine on twitter when I have time. Because my live bets are very instant. It's a matter of seconds because the lines move all the time. I don't usually bet second halfs. I bet on the specific Q most of the time.

Live betting is all about getting a sharp line based on the game. Watch the game, watch the line movments, and spot something you must take advantage of. If you are good, you don't even need to know the teams in order to make money. My biggest live bet ever was a few weeks ago. There was a game in the filipino basketball league or whatever. The fav was up by 7 after the first Q. I waited for the 2nd one to start, the fav was a +0.5 for the 2ndQ. The whole game shiftted to the dogs side. Now when I say it shiffted I'm talking about 2 stopps, that's all you need when you bet a certain Q. Got a -0.5 on the dog, and won the Q easily. Another bet I LOVE is betting the big loser of a 1stH in the NBA at the 2nd. More often than not, teams cut a big lead down in the 2nd. Easy to understand why.
My 3rd biggest live bet was against the Heat a few weeks ago when they were up 27 at the half I think against the 76's. Betting against them on the 2nd, is bassicly an all in bet at that spot. It's very rare an NBA team will destroy another NBA team two halfs. Almost never happens.

When you will get better, you won't even need to watch the games. Just the line movment to understand what is going on.

I've been doing something similar recently. If a team is down 20-25 points, I've been taking the +15 point dog if I can get it- but betting on the 2nd half overall seems like a much stronger proposition.

Example: Look at the Bulls-Celts game 1H-2H swing last night!

Whats the best (reputable) NBA Live Betting site?

I bet runs from time to time too but BM usually has 20-30 points in the future while im looking more for 5-7 point runs and not during timeouts and commercial breaks. Does such a thing exist?

i do some live betting on bovada for all those american parties interested- not the BEST book for gathering up live bets- but the ones available you can certainly take advantage of. I also was trying to test this theory of taking a really high spread of either time, dog or fav, of course taking the game play into consideration. however, I would love to see a spreadsheet over a season indicating a live betting system, for example, always playing a spread if it gets to an additional 10 or 15 points during the game. Of course this wont happen all the time, especially if you use bovada since they only offer about 2 live bball plays a night (some nights none if they arent nationally televised). anyways, there might be some take home points in all this rambling. GL, let me know if you develop a system or how you do in general with live betting. VERY FUN i might add!

The best site Iv'e seen is Victor Chandler. I'm not sure you can bet there from the US.
I like your plan before the game. I would even do this:
tonight I have a 9 unit bet on the Rockets +5.5 that means I love this one.
It would be smart to wait for a point in the game where the Rockets will be +7-8 which will happen almost for sure and then hammer it.

I'd recommend trying the other football strategies I mentioned through the Payneinsider.com betting platforms. With how aggressive the games have gotten, I would say slow-playing is even more profitable today. When it comes to live betting I also see good opportunities. I know that some Asian bookies don't know substitutions, lineups or weather in lower divisions since I've commentated on them myself and we didn't provide them with this information.

Just like I said most people do this- Wisegrumpy just described exactly what I said in that bold part of my quote, he looks for good spots for point spreads. I do live in play totals which is harder for most ingame.
Both ways work well, his is much easier to learn and execute imho.
