The Lakers is another example where today's lost will give the Lakers lots of extra motivation to get a win on the road because they are currently out of the playoffs if it started today; and another lost will only put them deeper in that non-playoff hole so I expect a win out of the Lakers but you also have to understand that the Lakers have trouble with teams that have a good point guard and Ricky Rubio is making a splash in the NBA right now as being one of the top point guard in the league which usually spell trouble for the Lakers. I think as far as importance and this game is more important for the Lakers than the Wolves. I will say the Lakers get the win but Love and company are a threat to any team now so I'm not sure.

“That is the kind of game where you are saying, ‘No, it’s not your time yet,’” said former Bull Horace Grant, who played in a bunch of these. “You want to make sure it’s a statement game, that when you meet again in the playoffs, and you probably will, you don’t want them thinking at all they can beat you.”

Why Wolves? The Lakers aren't really impressing me, now. They are making Kobe do all the work and the only guy coming off the bench doing something is Goldilocks. I think Lamar leaving would explain their lack of offense this year, that and the new coach. Overall, they look like just an average team, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lost. They've been losing to some mediocre teams.

I am leaning on the Knicks and Hawks tomorrow.
Here's another one to celebrate tonight's sweep.

I think considering that the Lakers always struggle with quick guards -- it's not unforseeable. The Lakers have struggled on the road all season- The Lakers did get Steve Blake back tonight so that's good.
This game will come down to controlling tempo- if the Lakers pound the ball inside and use their bigs they should win.
If they try to run and gun with New York that's tough because the Lakers are not a terrific perimeter shooting team and that's the type of game and pace the Knicks want.
Lin should have a good game but he will not be the only reason if NY does win- just like Kobe will not be the only reason if the Lakers win.
