Influence of Mike Brown on your Heat/Lakers side tonight
Mike Brown was essentially fired because of Lebron James. While he was parading around with 'The Decision', he knew that he would not be returning to Cleveland.. I don't want to open up conversation about Lebron aside from the prospects of tonight's game. I don't think that Mike Brown does not think about the recourse of how Lebron self-indulgance affected his life. His firing would have been prevented given a more mature, business-gentleman Lebron departure.

I've followed Mike Brown extensively during his career. He's a defensive, energy-man. He won't be outworked when it comes to preparing for that side. I'm sure he's put in some time here in preperation for this game and the Miami Heat. He will also know some of the nuances that can briefly throw Lebron off his game for a bit.

Bynum did not meet the Heat on their Christmas day loss last year. Kobe has been an assassin as usual. Lebron would have needed his buddy to pull him out of this one I feel, but he'll be in a 3-piece.

Lakers for 5 units, ill see what line I can get here in a bit.

Granted, LbJ will see it as a little fuel I'd imagine as well... Nonetheless, I think if the stripes don't get weird with some calls, Bynum will chew glass with Gasol pulling defenders away from the hole. The Laker defensive intensity should be there, Brown will surely stress that and forge motivation..

You are correct there.. I meant that he didn't start, and was still getting his legs. You're correct tho, he did play. No where near to what he is now tho. Who do you like?

I'd like it a lot more if miami had a full healthy roster. Healthy Lakers can't come close to hanging with a Healthy Heat team. Miami's backcourt is a massive matchup problem for LA, as is miami's superior athleticism. and Bosh is a better player than gasol and plays well against him with his length combined with his quickness gives gasol problems.. Only area a healthy laker team has over miami is the center position.

rebounding is the concern there but dont forget that miami was Top 7 in rebounding last year, and Top 3 for defensive rebounding, as the Heat have 4 players who are in the top 3 at their positions for rebounding rate in the league (Wade, LeBron, Miller, Haslem) - remember how Miller caused total fits for the lakers in the 2nd game in miami with his rebounding ( a very underrated aspect of his game). Wade and lebron are beast rebounders, and of course Haslem's rebounding rate is top 3 in the NBA for all PF's per minute played

The "fast hands" of miami's backcourt defense is a nightmare for the lakers. All of Wade, Lebron, cole and Chalmers are very quick with great quick hands (then you have battier as a reserve defender off the bench for perimeter D)

the Heat are also clearly a better shooting team outside the paint. also with Wade and lebron's drives they can get bynum into foul trouble quite easily if they wanted to. They did it in the 2nd game last year to an extent. Hell, they used to have side bets on the heat bench when it was just wade betting on if Wade will get 3 fouls on Dwight howard before the end of the 1st quarter. And that was just with wade on the team. He'd eat up howard and spit him out as a favorite pastime and what good is having a center like howard or bynum if they're on the bench ?

the Heat, when fully healthy, are a nightmare matchup for the lakers -- well beyond other points I haven't mentioned,

If a healthy Heat team were to play a healthy laker team in a playoff series, the Heat would win convincingly in 5 games or less.

PR9 would like a healthy Heat team over the Western Conference all-star squad.

There may be a slogan pandering about out there called: "what can Brown do for you", made popular by UPS.

But there is absolutely NOTHING Brown can do with a nightmare matchup against him. Nothing, nada, ziltch, CAPUT!!

ps- Bynum yet again with 2 early fouls against the supremely athletic Miami Heat ;-)
