What's up guys. New to the forum and thought I'd start a thread to keep track of bets and give the posters here some plays.

Now I'm no expert, as really no one is, but I do a good amount of research on games. If you go with my picks and lose...don't hate=]

This thread is mostly for people who are looking for a play for the day just to play something. I'll try to at least put up one line a day, but it will depend on work and school to see how much time I have.

1/6/12 7:05pm NBA Basketball 801 Atlanta Hawks -1½ -110* vs Charlotte Bobcats

Yes the Hawks might be tired from last night and yes they do play tomorrow but the Bobcats have been pretty bad this year. Atlanta hasn't been stellar on the road (blew a lead to the Bulls last time on the road) but the Hawks are just too talented not to win this game. I think it will be a 6 point + victory for the Hawks.

Also Corey Maggette was just announced out for 2-4 weeks and he was a 12ppg 6rpg player for them. I bet really small on this just because of the Hawks long game last night and having to play tomorrow. I'm least confident about this one.

1/6/12 8:05pm NBA Basketball 817 Denver Nuggets -4½ -110* vs New Orleans Hornets

Nuggets are pretty impressive this year and they have been decent on the road. The Hornets have 1 win out of 3 games at home and it was versus a Pierce-less Celtics team.

Now the line has moved up to 5 for the game, but I caught it at 4.5. I just read about 20-30 mins ago that Eric Gordon (who was supposed to be back tonight) will actually miss 2-3 more weeks. So the line might jump up even more.

This is now my favorite play of the day with Eric Gordon being out.

1/6/12 9:05pm NBA Basketball 820 Utah Jazz -1½ -110* vs Memphis Grizzlies

The Jazz have won the last 4 games versus the Grizzlies in Utah. Utah is a decent team but a GOOD home team. The Grizzlies are without Randolph and have been pretty awful on the road. I watched the Bulls game and it was TERRIBLE.

Jazz have played 3 games at home this year (6ers, Hornets, Bucks) and although the Hornets and Bucks aren't good...the Jazz still won all 3 games.
The Grizz have played 3 road games and are 1-2 (losses to Spurs and Bulls - both blowouts; the one win was @TWolves a 4 point victory)

Jazz shoot 47% at home and allow 41% shooting...while the Grizz are shooting an ugly 39% on the road and allowing 42% shooting (which is pretty good)

This is my second favorite play. It was my favorite play before Gordon was announced out.

Well got all 3 right i posted. Hope some of you played them.

Personally I also took Pistons to go under when I heard Ben Gordon and Stuckey were out.

Also took the Bulls to win. This was an emotional pick cause I'm from Chicago.

So 5 for 5 today not bad.

Tomorrow's plays look awful from what's up on 5dimes. The only play that intrigues me is Nuggets at + 4. Spurs play @okc sunday so they might slip against a VERY HOT team. I will place a small wager on it because im not very positive and its more of a 'hunch'. Its the only play i like.

Jazz @ Golden State is a good play. The Jazz are an awful road team. Average 86ppg on the road and give up 105. They give up 48% shooting to the home team while they shoot an awful 38%. They are just simply not the same team on the road. Warriors have won 3 out of the last 4 matchups and that was with Dwill still on the Jazz.

Ellis struggles vs Utah but they are on a losing streak and they will end it tonight. If Curry comes back, which he might, this is a lock. Still take the Warriors at -3

Memphis Grizzlies/Los Angeles Lakers Over 184 -110*

Lakers average 96.5 points per game at home. The game is in LA so the Lakers will put up 100 points themselves. I just hope the Grizzlies can put up 84...

Just kidding. The Lakers have allowed less than 90 points 4 times this year. Under 80 only once... I think this is a safe bet.


Only play I really love for tomorrow. I took the Wizards at +2 but that's because it's a hunch. Not a bet I am recommending.

For what it is worth...teams on the 3rd day of the b2b2b are 5-0. Thunder play their 3rd straight tomorrow versus the Spurs. Spread is 5.5 so I am waiting to take it, but the Thunder suffered an key injury to Eric Maynor.

I also love the UNDER 194, but I don't know why Pinny is juicing it. When Pinny juices, and I disagree, it's a no-play.

I think the squares love the idea that Spurs are 7-0 v. Thunder, but that was before Perkins. Perkins should box out Duncan and/or Blair for the rebounds and block his post shots, while this frees Sefolosha to block the perimeter better.

Also, I notice if Spurs have a good day at 3pt line, next day, their 3pt shooting is awful.

I love Lakers/Griz OVER. BOL to us. Lets get this!

Eric Maynor is out for the season. If you are thinking about betting on the Thunder tonight, I would be very cautious... He was huge for them.

Nets have been blown out consistently at home this season. 2 of Atlanta's 3 losses were when playing the 2nd of a b2b. The 3rd was to the Heat at the start of the 3 games in 3 nights.

They had a day off today, and a day off Tuesday so they can really focus on this one. Lopez is still out and I just got a text saying that Okur will most likely be out as well. The best is the Nets home averages. They average 84.7ppg while opponents average 105.0...

So far this is the only play I really like. I rarely look at o/u because I can never figure them out. Tonight I was positive LA/Griz would hit and then they went full retard in the 4th. Enjoy the play mates. Line will most likely move.

Oh and last 3 times these 2 teams played the Hawks have won by 7, 16, 11.

Good luck, but the Hawks are pretty unpredictable, and I could totally see them losing straight up to the Nets. Either way, BOL.

yeah Hawks are one of those up and down teams. They lost to the Heat at home and @ Chi, @Hou.

I think the fact that they have that day off before and after will be big for them.

The line briefly hit 4.5 is when I caught it. I do not understand how the 76ers are getting points. The Knicks are a pretty bad team. That bench is really...really bad. 76ers have been playing great this year and are a pretty deep team.

That being said the Knicks are 1-6 when they are considered 'favorites'. They are 0-4 ATS in home games this year. They are also 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. They are allowing 99ppg on 48% shooting at home. They are giving up more ppg and letting teams shoot better at home then they are on the road...needless to say...bad home team. Knicks are shooting 42% at home and averaging 98ppg...

Meanwhile the 6ers are scoring 102ppg on 48% shooting on the road and allowing 92ppg on 41% shooting. The 6ers are 5-0 ATS in their last five and 8-1 in ALL of their games ATS. 76ers are also 5-0 in January...3-0 after playing the night before. They are undefeated against teams with winning records (2-0). Knicks haven't even played a team with a winning record yet and are 5-4 overall this year...

The 76ers have lost twice this year and they were all on the road. @Jazz and @Blazers. The two best home teams in the West right now. The Knicks beat the Celtics (without Pierce) at home and the Bobcats by 4 at home...then lost to the Raptors and Bobcats at home.

In terms of offensive efficiency the 76ers are 1st in the league right now and the Knicks are 13th. Defensive efficiency...76ers 1st..Knicks 10th.

76ers are also playing their 3rd game in a row, which teams are 6-1 playing that 3rd game. That first loss came last night with the Wolves losing to the Bulls. 6ers are also on a hot streak of a 6 game winning streak.

1/11/2012 10:05 PM NBA Basketball 720 Portland Trailblazers* Over 94 -110 vs Orlando Magic

The Blazers have scored under 100 only once at home this year and that was a blow out victory over the Cavs where they still scored 98. Orlando is ranked 12th in defensive efficiency so they aren't a great defensive team...just decent. Blazers are undefeated at home and averaging 104ppg at home and 99 ppg overall. Shoot about 45% at home which is a good number.

The only scary part of this is that when they had a big game against the Lakers...they fell flat the next day in Phoenix. They just had a big win versus the Clippers last night, but the key difference here is they are playing at home tonight where they are unbeaten..

The Magic have lost to the Thunder and Pistons on the road and beat the sorry Bobcats and Kings as their only road victories.

You can play the spread at (-3) but I like this play better.

1/13/12 8:35pm NBA Basketball 814 San Antonio Spurs -1½ -110* <small>vs</small> Portland Trailblazers
The Spurs are undefeated at home and the Blazers aren't as solid on the road as they are at home. Blazers shoot 39% from the field and 24.5% from the 3 on the road...while the Spurs shoot 47% from the field and 45% from 3 at home. Those numbers sold me over. Both teams had yesterday off but only the Spurs have tomorrow off.

The only thing that scares me is the Blazers seem to come out for the big games. I think they will consider this a big game.

Rose is banged up. Noah is banged up and out of it. They are not playing the Wizards so I don't see John Lucas III going OFF again. Rose says he is going to play but who knows if the coaches will allow him to. Someone on this board posted a stat that the Celtics are on a 14 game win streak when one of the three officials from tonight are reffing. That's a pretty mind blowing stat.

Last year the Heat beat them by 30 points in Miami. Heat are on a 3 game losing streak and haven't played since Friday. Spurs played versus the Suns Sunday night and then go to Orlando Wednesday night while Miami can rest again. All of their focus will be on this one. Spurs are also 0-4 ATS on the road.

The spread opened at -7.5 and actually dropped? I have this one as Rockets 96 Pistons 86. The Pistons have covered the spread only once on the road, which was a victory against an awful Bobcats team. Pistons have not traveled out west yet this year and are 0-2 versus the west (8 point loss to the Warriors and 14 to the Mavs). Charlie V is also supposed to miss this game so a thin team gets thinner.

Houston on the other hand is 5-0 ATS at home. They've played 2 Eastern Conf. teams (@ORL loss and ATL at home - Won by 11) Houston is 3-1 ATS versus the Pistons the past 2 years and 2-0 ATS at home versus the Pistons the past 2 years. I think Houston easily wins this BUT the only thing that worries me is this is their 4th game in 5 days..ML has not been released but if it's under -200 I might take it for big money.
