    parlay hedge question
I have a 4 team parlay that is 60 to win 833. I have already won 3 games with the 4th game to start at 10:00. I have never hedged before so I was wondering how much should I bet on the opposite side for the 4th game?

How much do you want to guarantee in the win? Do you need to bet the spread on the other side?
If it was me I would guarantee a win by betting $440 on the opposite team (assuming -110 juice.) To win $400. You win this bet you are $340.00 profit on the day. I subtracted the $60 you lose on the parlay. You win the parlay you are currently holding and lose the $440 bet on the opposite team you win $333 on the day) $833-$440= $393 - $60.00 bet= Profit of $333.00 This would guarantee a profit on the day.Otherwise go for the big gamble and hope you hit the big one! Take the profit and build the bank roll by betting the other team using my scenario and you live to bet with a little bigger bank roll tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice. My 4th game was on the over on Sacramento/Portland NBA game. The over is 196 for the game and they have 92 points at half. Not confident that game will be going over so I bet 440 to win 400 on the under 2nd half. I will take the guaranteed profit.

The only time it's good to get middled is when you're in between 2 hot females.

Maybe I did f up as I am new to this hedging stuff. I have under 98 second half and over 196 for the game. Where are you getting the 6 point window or is it more?

Oh crap I see the 6 points now. So basically if the game ends up with total 190 to 196 I am f'ed.

if they score 98 in the 2nd hlf u push the hedge, lose your parlay.. 99-103 you lose ur hedge & parlay.. 104 lose your hedge& push last leg of the parlay and it doesnt pay 833 anymore..

Looks like it worked out for me. Was freaking out there for a sec that I f'ed myself. So it looks like instead of losing $60 I will win $340. I guess it was a good move ultimately but probably way too risky.

bett/or to hedge the game total.. the best way would have been to expl: if the total had gone up lets say to 197 buy 3 and go to 200 and go under.. its possible it can go ovr 196 and stay und 200.. thats a middle.. hit the parlay and the hedge..

Im happy you won and sorry that I didn't mention to make sure your bet on the hedge would not get middled. I thought you understood making sure the line you hedged was the same for your hedge. I would hve hated to see you lose both bets and was rooting for you. I hope all of this helped you learn about hedging bets. Congrats

ALWAYS HEDGE PRIOR TO A GAME. I learned that earlier this year. All I needed was the Ravens to win by a point against the Jags on MNF. I got cocky and didn't hedge because I thought the Ravens would handle the Jags. Of course the Ravens had one of their worst games offensively in the history of their franchise and lost to the Jags on MNF, and I was

I got HOU 45 to win 751 with parlay and straight up combined if I risk 517 to win 279 on (KC which is -185) is that the correct play to gtd a profit?
