not a bad bet considering NJ just played in washington last night.

also, over/under is at 181 . . . seems too low for this game. over the last 10 matchups, the total has been under 181 only once.

also, NJ put up some nice points after struggling in the first half. they totaled 51 in the second half. when you consider over 181, 51 by a team in a half is more than enough.

Id lean under 181, Hawks first game of the season, Nets traveling back home on a back to back. Hawks better defensively than Wiz and they play slowish, Nets dont score a whole lot.

Hawks play slowish? I didn't watch them in the preseason, but last year they liked to run. Did they change their offensive mindset?

Well they ranked 28th out of 30 teams last year in scoring.

NJ on B2B and off a straight up dog win.

Also this really has nothing to do with this game, but they have the Magic up next. I have to think that's a game they're looking at with all the Howard talk this off-season. Im not calling it a true look-a-head game, but just saying it's next.

                  I like ATL here regardless.
NJ just doesnt have enough scoring and Humphries won't score 20 every game.

My thoughts exactly, only thing that slows down a bet right now for me is Deron Williams, he's the caliber of PG that can keep his team close enough or bring them back for a cover.

Good points, i'm sold on ATL -4.5. And my new book gives me free half points on NBA games on weekdays. So ATL -4 it is.
