funny how the grizz opened up faves then after there awful performance last night versus the spurs the line swings accross all the shops.

They'll be ready for the Grizzlies who just got smacked around by the generally disappointing Spurs.

that happens a lot to teams in their first game back at home after a long road trip. They're still sluggish a lot of times. Hell, denver looked very rough in that 2nd half to the craptors in their first home game turning the ball over with careless play all over the court, allowing the raptors to climb within 6 with 3 minutes left to play. Only difference was denver had a hot player hitting 3's and toronto could not make a shot after that. But if toronto had made just one 3, at the right moment just beyond the 2 minute mark, that's a different game. Anyone who watched that game knows the final score was not indicative of the play as the Raps clearly were the better team in that 2nd half.

Moreover, i had the spurs last night for reasons already mentioned:

Pop sat his starters in the 2nd half last night when the spurs were down big. He even kept them on the bench when the bench players came back in the game & leading by 5. However Pop didn't give in, he wasn't going to allow anything to get in the way of his message.

Huge bench disparity in this one.

Denver's bench is so superior to the Grizzlies bench it's not even funny. Conley/Gay/Gasol went 8-32 last night, they better go 22-32 tonight to negate the massive advantages denver has with their bench. lol

I don't have a bet on this game right now. But this is an excellent spot for memphis, the "spot" really favors them, but clearly the fresher team with more options is denver

gasol looked gassed the last couple of games. He's not the most stout or strongest guy out there, and people don't realize what an immense toll playing the center position every night does to one's body with the banging and bruising in there. It's nothing like the power forward position, not even close. The PF is a lot easier on the body. But the center position is an incredible grind and that's why there's so few really good centers today

it's been taking a toll on gasol lately, that's why so many of his shots come short of the rim the past few games. Without Randolph in there to take some of the burden away., it could effect their team going forward as they rely on gasol to do alot for them (both offensively and defensively). He is being "overstretched" asked to do more than usual (without randolph), and i don't know if he can demand himself of so much, and to do it every night...as he is human

Let's face it, what we are really betting on every night is "effort". not the teams. We are betting on which team will bring the energy and effort on any given night. Because any team with a lot of effort can beat any team with little effort in this league - as we see on a nightly basis

But Memphis in the 2nd home game after a long road trip is a very good spot for them.. also in the last quarter both teams played, Memphis looked much better than denver. The nuggets could be looking forward to the revenge game vs the Clips next.. followed by a game against the Lakers the very next day. They had 2 hotly contested b2b games against the lakers already and they like playing against them. Denver could be looking forward to the 2 LA games they play in the next 3 days

I'm on the Grizzle as well LB. The home team has won the last four meetings, nothing changes tonight!

I'm fairly sure that Memphis off of four straight losses, all versus quality opponents sans the Suns, will be hugely motivated to break out of their funk. Denver, before losing to the Clipps, had been beating up on the doormats of the league.

and Memphis is clearly a much better team than both of them. At least Memphis can play a lick of defense, and are one of the best teams in the league at forcing turnovers (they were 2nd best in the NBA just a couple of games ago in that regard).

All you had to look at was the clippers game. It was a 91-89 game with 1 minute left. And if you watched that game the clippers could not get into any rhythm on offense at all. With all the forced turnovers and wasted possessions the Grizzlies forced.

Key stat in this game:

Can Memphis get alot of easy pts against Denver. Memphis forces alot of turnovers and are ranked 2nd in this regard. Meanwhile, Denver turns the ball over alot and are ranked 25th for giving away the most turnovers.. partly to do with Denver's 26th ranked defense.

If Lawson does not play this can potentially be big for Memphis. The Nuggets seem to not know who and where to get the ball to without him as seamlessly as they do with him. He is a very big key in getting guys to the right spots on the court and getting their offense into proper rhythm. Without him, expect Memphis to force more turnovers than usual as Denver looks to play like a team of chickens with their heads cut off without Lawson directing the offense as a general on the floor.

ps- Denver is in the top 10 for forcing turnovers however.

I like the Hawks first half and first quarter. The Raps have a tendency to start off real slow and with this being their first game back after a 5 game trip (one where they surprisingly went 3-2) I see them coming out flat again tonight. Also, McGrady likes to go HAM whenever he comes back to Toronto, granted McGrady is not the same player he once was.

Its all a cycle with my style of betting cause i take points and like +ml dogs alot. I should not have taken mem for such a large amount because i swore myself off dogs this week but then i faded my original thought.

I think the best thing to do is slow your roll( which im not doing with tonights play) but one thing i learned along time ago YOU DONT take the day off because your cold.

I say just pick spots here and there.
