    Kevin Durant
Is this the year he becomes the best player in basketball?

7 footer with speed, can score from anywhere, has all the tools to pass Lebron as the games best player. Let's see it. what do you think?

No. Nobody has a better all-around game than Lebron. Durant is a great scorer but he's not a well rounded player like Lebron or even Wade.

His defense started to come around last year, but I agree with you, that's why I'm interested to see if he worked on the little things this off season. This can be his year. He's unstoppable when he wants to be, we just don't see it enough with Westbrook there too.

I like Durant but I would argue he's not even the best in the NBA at what he does: scoring.

based off of last season I think Dirk proved to be a better scorer. More efficient and a better shooter from mid range and long range.

Nah I'd still put him as the best inside out scorer in the league, paired with 7-8 boards a night, 30-10 is right around the corner for this guy. I think he'll win MVP this year.

I don't think 30/10 has ever been done in modern NBA history. Correct me if I'm wrong but only one player in history has ever even averaged 25/10. It's just very unlikely.

I dont think it's been done, I just think his ceiling is so high. He got 28 and 7 last year. I dont think he'll get there, I'm just saying I think he can. I know he's not quite in lebrons class yet but I think this is the year. Only time will tell.

27-28 and 8 is more likely obviously, but thats still MVP numbers. I'd like to see him take over more like he did the one game against Denver, just not in his nature.

I find the MVP is more about "storyline" and less about numbers. Durant is one of the favorites for MVP but it could just as easily be Chris Paul this year too. Or maybe someone else can come out of nowhere. Maybe Blake, who knows....

KD is just a scorer, hes not an elite defender

Just to clarify I never said durant was the best player, I was thinking this could be the year he becomes that.

But we saw him to start to defend last year, good rebounder. Obviously he's not going to be the passer then Lebron is but I think he can defend at a good level. We'll see

Best pure scorer but that's it. Best player maybe in 2 years.

Lebron is 6'10 and he might be a top 2 passer in the NBA. You got guys like Westbrook and Rose who play the pg position and should be taking notes from a SF on how to pass the ball.

Lebron's defense has been overrated over the years but he took a big step up last year. Wade has averaged more blocks throughout his career despite being 6 inches shorter and yet he is denied nba all first team defense every year simply because Kobe's name is already penciled in before the season starts.

Lebron is a pure point guard, that's why he doesn't have a low post game. But being 8 inches taller than rose and Westbrook is obviously a huge advantage. I think there could be debate that Dwayne wade is the best player in the league right now and not Lebron.

Karl Malone averaged 30/10 in a season.
