Augustus' counterpart in Phoenix is Taurasi, the five-time scoring champion, and the catalyst for the Mercury with her shooting and playmaking abilities. However, in Phoenix's first round matchup against defending champion Seattle, Taurasi struggled at times with her shot (36 percent from the field, 25 percent from three) and her control (fouling out and getting a pair of technical fouls in the decisive Game 3).

This is almost exactly the same thing I say about McCoughtry and Atlanta on my blog (link above).

I might look more closely into backing Phoenix here.

        From Swish Appeal:

Seattle Storm center Lauren Jackson pretty much summed up the way I felt after their heartbreaking 77-75 loss to the Phoenix Mercury in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals last night.

"It's numb, like the rest of me right now," Jackson said referring to the hip she injured earlier in the season. "My hip is nothing in comparison to how I feel emotionally. I think the same could be said of every one of my teammates."

The reason i posted this last bit is ... Minnesota is about to feel very numb, very soon.

And we're up 20-15, with Catchings on 2 fouls, and Phillips unable to string together two possessions without a turnover...

Yep they are. She needs to learn how to play with fouls.

Far from over. If only de Souza stays instead of leaving for Brazil, I'm absolutely putting down more money on Atlanta to advance. +250 would suffice.

Well, de Souza won't play on Sunday, or Tuesday - if Atlanta makes it that far.

Is Indiana really that much worse away from Conseco Fieldhouse?

I can bet a small fortune on Atlanta to win at -190. Should I do it?

You got them at the best possible time.

Atlanta was +230 to win this series at 5dimes.

I'm pretty sure they dont think putting that price up was such a great idea.

Angel owned Tamika. And the latter won't be at 100% in game 3. Doesn't look promising for the Fever.

                        Fishing trip imminent?...

Question of the day is.. With Tamika Catchings DOUBTFUL / a gametime decision, how is game total affected?

Knowing she's out, would you bet over or under?

Lin Dunn is going to 'shock the world' by her starting five tonight.

Marynel Meadors should start the same five players she did in game 2 and go from there. No way Castro Marquez shoots as well, but a lot of forced turnovers and fast breaks should keep Atlanta in the lead most of this game.
