WNBA fix or completely idiotic girls?
    Line NY +5.5

    From WNBA.com

    Code:
    [B]Pondexter 3pt Shot: Made (24 PTS) Assist: Spencer (1 AST) 00:06.8
    [NYL 81-85]
     Spencer Foul : Personal (1 PF) 00:05.7
     Carson Foul : Personal (2 PF) 00:03.3
     	00:03.3
[ATL 86-81] Harding Free Throw 1 of 2 (24 PTS)
     	00:03.3
[ATL 87-81] Harding Free Throw 2 of 2 (25 PTS)
     Team Timeout : Short 00:03.3
Spencer Jump Shot: Missed Block: Bales (3 BLK) 00:01.0
     	00:00.0 Price Rebound (Off:3 Def:3) [/B]
NY is behind 4 pts with 5.7 seconds left. That's two possessions. They foul not once, but twice... Giving up 2FT's with 3.3 seconds left and no chance whatsover of winning the game. Result? Atlanta covers by 1/2 pt.

I don't even think it's a fix. I think these girls are just THAT stupid.

they're not betting on themselves. The women can be down by 8 with 11 seconds left an foul. It's their mentality. Sux. I had Liberty but they were only points--ML 160 points , +5.5 160 points---1st half, I thought that this was in the bag. Women are unpredictable

No fix, pure stupidity. I've seen many games where they've been down 10+ points with 20 seconds left and still fouling.

Yeah, I've seen the intentional fouling in the WNBA. But c'mon. 3 seconds left and behind 4 pts. What are they thinking? Nothing. Dumb stereotype, but even dumber when women confirm it.

right, i read the pregame spiel on my phone on espn about the lynx/shock game, and it was mostly about the lynx, and one of the few paragraphs about the shock was a quote from nolan saying (and i'm paraphrasing to a degree), "yeah, i'm sure it's really heard on them mentally because they work so hard at practice, but when it comes gametime they don't get the paycheck". so many things wrong with him saying that.

This shit happens in the NBA too

I still remember in a reg season game the Lakers were down by 10+ points Artest fouled 3 times with 17 seconds, 13 seconds, and 3 seconds left in the game, gave the other team 6 FTs, LAL lost by 14+ pts, I think it was a home game against OKC

Artest was just trying to improve his personal foul count.

More competitive? This difference between NBA and WNBA reminds me of chess. You'll never see a checkmate (as in 'play to the final whistle') in a game between professional players. Only amateurs will insist that a hopelessly lost position is played to the very last move. And in their case it may even work, because the other player may make a dumb mistake. Between good players, though, this is a sign of disrespect. So with that in mind these women are really telling us that they don't think they're very good.

Use this to your advantage if this is the case. Don't even bother taking points when you are talking +1 to +4.5 with WNBA teams, just take the ML.

Not more competitive, but they take on more of a high-schoolish mentality. You are correct, they play to the end of the whistle whether they actually have a chance or not. Silly, but you have to account for it in your capping.

Sorry, my bad for phrasing it in the form of a question. Players ARE told by coaches to dribble it out up 10 in the last possession. My coach made it pretty damn clear in college.

It's a different game. Only 5 games out of the first 29 games this season were decided by 6 points or less.
Taking a dog at +6 or less seems like you're losing out on value and the better decision is just to take the moneyline.
