i pick France -16.5 against Latvia.

Yesterday there was a shock for me and for everyone who is following this eurobasket in Poland. Latvia managed somehow, to defeat France by 3 points, after a low scoring last period. Dumerc was out with 2 fouls early in the 1st quarter and didn't play anymore till the end of the half. The French were dropping bricks and couldn't take advantage of their pace to score easy points at the open court.

At the moment, after 2 games every team is 1/1 and the group is too complicated. France might need only to win tonight against Greek team, which yesterday lost 65-63 by a last chance shot of Crotians. You don't need to be wise to know that France will win tonight, but the thing is, if they want to cover the 13 points of the handicap, which is on Greece.
So, France has to win to take the first place. And i think they will win by 20+.
Greece is so weak under the basket so they will lose many rebounds. I think that we will watch many second chance points for France tonight, as the taller tricolor girls will grab many more rebs. I bet also, that Dumerc will be an impact factor, even though Kalentzou is a good defender and can make her life tougher than usual.
These are high scoring teams, as Greece can hit 6-7 threes beyond the arc and France is a supersonic team.
I am convinced that the Greeks could not stay close after the half, except for hitting more than 7-8 threes.
France won all four past meetings against Greece.
Last time was at 2009 QF, when they beat the Greeks by 2 points.

In addition that i am Greek and i know the potential of my home country's team, France should have covered easily.

Maybe i am the worst capper ever, but if you have watched a few games, then you had to agree with me, why i picked France the two last times.

Lithuania against Great Britain
pick Lithuania -14,5 to destroy the British girls.


For GB it is a step forward the fact that they are at this second phase, so they will enjoy their presence, having nothing to lose. Lithuania is a decent team with its ups and downs, as every other team at this tournament. It passed with 2-1 score, losing its last game by Slovakia.
Great Britain made it, despite the 2 early losses against better teams, by beating Israel at the last game.
British girls lost by 15 both times, so they will do today, against Lithuania.
This full of talent team cannot even consider not to have a clear and easy victory early in that game. The thing is, if they can manage to cover the spread till the end.
The factor called energy will be very important this time, because there are 3 more games for these girls, so the bench will "find" extra minutes on the court, to protect the starters against fatigue. I am rolling with Lithuania, picking the better team minus the points once again.
