I know he thinks Memphis is overrated and UCLA benefitted
from a close game. Other than that I dont know why he
likes them.

I haven't seen Memphis play yet so I iono how their defense is like.

Take a minute to talk about that last one, which looks like a surprise. Denver is this system's highest rated team over the last 10 games. They have been consistently good -- playing above the expected level in every single one of those 10 games, which is rare. In fact you have to go back to March 3 (a loss at Houston) to find a spot where they earned a game score below average (that is, below 50). Their scores in the last 10 have ranged from 52 to 88. Phoenix on the other hand has dropped some by virtue of some seriously below par efforts, including their last two games and the Portland road loss.

But note that one of Phoenix's down games, that debacle with the Spurs at home, came without Nash, and I currently do not have a way to adjust for an injury like that with the awarded game scores (although I would like to add that feature). Also, Denver gets significant credit for their recent 7-game road trip against some highly ranked teams -- (and some weaker teams, like the Knicks, who were actually playing pretty well at the time of the Nugs game and thus gave the Nugs a quite decent game score for playing well against them.)

However PHX is frightening to play against, and now has Amare, and Denver is off a BTB. So caution seems advisable.
But by my reckoning Denver is an elite team without the reputation of one -- the profile of a profit center.

How about that total? 227! Points are cheap -- laying 9 here is like 6 somewhere else.

And speaking of totals, 206 is way too high at LA, IMO.
If the Clips control the game, it goes under.

That's true. That would be in the 118-109 region. But PHX can get sloppy when they're up DD and over a 100. Could be easy backdoor cover for DEN.

Price for -9 has been moving between -102 and -110 at Pinny. Now -110.
