From my opinion, when season beginning in any sports......SHARPS GET STABBED.

Now at Sparks -3. I just think that the market's love for the Lynx is too much too soon. The line didn't open at -5.5 for no reason. The Lynx beat the Fever twice in the preseason, which really was not a fair measure of how well they're going to play tomorrow, as the Fever lost key players in the offseason and are coming off a somewhat disappointing end to the 2010 season.

It's the first game of the year so we're not talking a big bet here, but I think the Sparks are the right side to be on.

I'm rolling with the Sparks today at -3 for a small 0.25x and see you are on them as well. Let's start the season off 1-0 .

I wanted to jump on that under, but neither of my locals put up a line when it was at 162.5 and now it's all the way down to 157 and even 156.5 at Pinny. I just think LA's length and athleticism put them over the top against Moore and the Lynx. I would expect Parker to come out very motivated after the injury to reassert her dominance in this league against the young upstart Moore. I think the Moore factor was why the line dropped so precipitously, but I think people are underestimating how good Parker really is. I expect a rather easy win by the Sparks tonight.

Thanks for your insight and answering my questions a few pages back. I will be checking out this thread consistently throughout the WNBA season and hope to learn some more from you Roag. This is my first year capping WNBA full time (always played a bit here and there) so I'm going light at first until I get my totals deviation model in full effect. Then we might have some big plays starting around mid-season. Thanks for your input. Looking forward to a great WNBA season!

I hate to be stuck on the 1/2 point. Those of us who have 3 need the Sparks to win by 4 to win the bet, but that 1/2 point eliminates the possibility of a push for you. You can't buy a 1/2 at your book? Hard to predict where the line will go today, the public drove it down to 3/3.5 from 5.5 and I think this is right where it should be. So up to you bro.

Yep, I don't think the public realizes how big of a factor Candace Parker is. At this point in the season she gives the Sparks a big advantage over the Lynx even with Maya Moore. It should be a very interesting game.
