it's nothing new with the lakers anymore, they always do some shit like that, didn't you notice kobe and gasoft's minutes last night? they are playing their regular season minutes, and besides the mavs bench played pretty well last night, while the lakers have 10 less points from their bench, bynum didn't contribute, gasoft playing his usual soft ways, artest cooled down so i ain't worried about the mavs taking it last night

The thing people arent understanding is that the lakers cant defend jumpshooting teams. It was proven all year long with losses to teams that can shoot. There advantage in the paint is all fine and mighty but it equals out because of that horrible perimeter defense. In the past the lakers had to win the paint battle but now it is no battle because the teams they are playing dont play like that and besides mem no team is like that. THey will struggle in this series as well and if they manage to sneak out of this series they will struggle versus a team like miami. THe lakeshow have the great inside game but they have no opponent with that counter so they have weak perimeter defenders.

NBA Championships are not won by jump-shooting teams. DAL has been a stop-and-pop type of offense for as long as anyone remembers, and it only recently added a defensive component to their game. It's always been teams that could grind and pound that's won the O'Brien trophy in June. Against a MIA team in 2006 that played mediocre defense, Dirk's squad faltered as well. The Mavs just ain't built for the postseason.
