    Moral Victory for Boston?
Miami out played them the entire game, and deserved to win the game, don't get me wrong. They won the game by 9 points however, in a game they should have beat them by 15+. That said, they showed alot of poise and defensive ability tonight, that shouldn't go unnoticed. That said, quite a few things happened tonight for the Heat that I do not believe will happen every game for the rest of the season.

--Refs. They favored Miami the entire game, this can not be argued. Boston could not buy a call. Perhaps the NBA wants the Heat to move on, I don't doubt it.

--Wade...averaged 12 points a game vs Boston this year. Tonight... 38. Is that gonna happen nightly? Doubt it.

--Rondo.. the spark plug of Boston's offense....pretty much non existant. Got into early foul trouble and never got things going...don't think that's gonna happen every night.

--Jones... lights out three pointers... scored 25 points.... absolutely on fire from 3 point land. That going to happen nightly? No.

--Pierce gets thrown out of the game on an absolute horse shit call. It was a borderline foul, but getting thrown out of the game... absolute bullshit.

--Garnett...non existant on offense. Was it Miami's D preventing him from being effective? Probably. But I don't see them being able to contain him like they did tonight for the rest of the series.

Take away Jones' performance and you have a game that could have gone down to the last posession. Don't get me wrong...Miami looked great defensively... but they are far from a lock for winning this series. They should have beat Boston by 15+ tonight the way the Celts performed.

I will certainly argue the reffing piece. Sure, Pierce getting thrown out was an awful call, but it obviously stemmed from his near headbutt earlier. Regardless, it didn't impact the outcome of the game. The Heat shut Boston down defensively aside from the 3-point line. Boston went 12 of 24 from 3 and STILL lost by 9. Think they will shoot that well again? Think Bosh will score 7 points again? Ray Allen also played about as well as you can expect.

yea but celtics were highest % shooting team in nba and went way under that this game. and our turnovers were also high. I agree with OP. Heat havent got production from bench all season and playoffs but they did tonight with james jones. he was about to retire for a reason. i dont think it does that again this series

I hate how people keep talking about the Heat bench, they in no way rely on their bench for big scoring they had the least amount of bench points in all of the NBA and still came out with 50+ wins. OP check Wades playoffs stats last year in the Celtics series, beast mode he even dropped 50 one game I think to avoid a sweep. Heat are locked.

well with Miami's bench... it's gonna take 28+ nightly from Wade\LBJ and 10 and 10 from Bosh.

Are we comparing the ability of Boston to contain super stars... to the ability of Philly to contain super stars?

I think that's what you just did.

Yes we are because Philly is a young fresh legged team he can hang with us on the fast break and can chase us in the half court. Bostons aged they cant chase us everywhere and Miami has too many weapons take away one and someone else will just get the rock.
